Wonderful course. Early in the season, but expect conditioning to improve. Staff were excellent, just what you'd expect in a first class operation. Can't wait to return.

This is one of Ontario's best courses. Hawrtee designed a gem here, with his legacy, that players of links courses can love! All forced carries, it's not for the faint of heart. It is not a course for duffers! You have to hit the shots to stay in play which makes it all the more challenging. when conditions are benign, then have at it, but when the wind is up, look out, Personally, when the wind blows, I love it! You will not be able to hit greens from the fairway bunkers, so the advice her is, don't hit any fairway bunkers!!! A Hawtree nuance,
But remember, you have to be able to hit a good ball.
This is a great course, and if you deny that, then you can't play this game well, stick to parkland courses.....stick to needlepoint!

Granted, 2014 is off to a very slow start for nice weather, but I enjoy playing when it's windy. Today was on the cool side, but when you see this course, it is spectacular! Can't wait to play it when the weather's warm and all the leaves are out...then it'll be something else even more beautiful.
We played from the blue tees, which made it very difficult hitting into the wind, but that doesn't matter when you see this layout. There are lots of elevation changes throughout, hitting up to the greens, winding fairways, marsh areas you don't see, especially on the par 5's short of the greens. When you look at the pictures on the scorecard, pay attention to hitting your ball on the fairway. These marshy areas are not seen, but regardless, after your first round, you'll be prepared for the next. The condition was better than I expected for this year's lousy start, but this course is a must play....just beautiful!

I have played this course numerous times and enjoy it every time.
Not many forced carries from the tee, but one should hit from the appropriate tees according to their handicaps. It is usually in very good shape and I like how the holes are laid out with a fine mix of water and bunkers to keep you on your toes when approaching the greens. It's also a mix of parkland and links style holes that are appealing to the eye. The rough though, can be punishing, depending on how and when they cut it. It can be deep.
Overall, one of my favorite courses to play in southern Ontario.
