Los Lagos

Great public course. New carts and well maintained greens. Course has character with some dog legs and tree lined fairways. This course attracts some really good players, more so than surrounding courses. This course has no marshal or anyone who prevents rounds from being 5-6 hours. Slow play is the standard most of the day with certain holes such as 4 and 7 can have as much as 3 groups backed up. Back nine goes faster because of the amount of golfers that quit early. I really enjoy this place from adequate parking to great practice facilities and nice men’s locker room.

San Juan Hills

Nice course. Funky layout starts out a little uphill par 4 that’s an easy start. Then the next few holes are straight out of a fit them into the land available and you wonder what’s going on. Then the fun begins with a downhill par 5 that’s and absolute blast and should be reachable for any single digit handicap. Word of caution no room around that green and ball could end up rolling down to 5 freeway for all we know. There are areas very close to the greens that the ball will just disappear. The next holes take you to the clubhouse and are pretty uneventful. Cross the road and you feel like your in riverside county and that’s some of the charm playing here. Cross the road again and now your in a palm desert resort course . Great variety and if you have skills you’ll love this place. If your long and wild you’ll need a dozen balls or more and a lesson on how to stay on the hole your supposed to play. Overall great course with semi fast greens and does not disappoint with condition, friendliness of staff, and variety of holes.
