The Heritage Club

Great course. Great holes. Great scenery. Good conditions. Please space out the tees times. 5.5 hour rounds are awful.
Barefoot Resort & Golf - Dye Course
Played On 06/16/2017A mental game
Pete Dye just likes to mess with you and this is no exception. From the tees, it looks like there is no fairway out there. There is. Plot your way around the course. The sand was in great condition -- and there is a lot of it. Was surprised by a 5-hour round. Barefoot usually is good on pace of play.
Glen Dornoch Waterway Golf Links
Played On 06/15/2017Beautiful
Great course. The signature holes head to/ore along the waterway. They'll keep you coming back. Greens were slow, as they had been punched recently. They'll come back. Play the right set of tees. Follow the handicap guidelines on the card for a fun day.
Legends Golf Resort - Heathland Course
Played On 06/14/2017Change of pace
One of the great things about the legends complex is how different the courses are. Parkland is right next to Heathland and they dramatically different. Greens were faster at Heathland and H was wide open, whereas P is tree lined. As always, pace of play isn't great at Lefends, but if you can accept that, you'll have fun. What do you wants for $50 and breakfast, lunch and beverages? Heathland's challenge is your short game. You've got to chip to the correct area of huge greens and putt well. Good fun.
Legends Golf Resort - Parkland Course
Played On 06/13/2017Bring the right attitude
Possibly my favorite of the Legends 54-hole central complex. It's tough sometimes at Legends as they stack golfers in there and double tee. If you prepare yourself for a long round, you'll be fine. If not, it's a long day. Parkland is long with the "senior" tees being 6,100 yards. Tough course, but pretty and fun to play.
True Blue Golf Club
Played On 06/11/2017True classic
A different course than its sister, Caledonia. Like Caledonia, though, this is must-play golf in Myrtle Beach. Every hole is a treat. Conditions are always great. First-rate operation. Word to the wise ... Play the tees commensurate with your ability. Otherwise, it's going to be a long day.
The Dunes Golf & Beach Club
Played On 06/09/2017The elder statesman
This has been on my playlist five of the six years I've been down here. It's a terrific course. Fastest greens in Myrtle Beach. They roll true. Overpriced? Probably. Heck, I'm on vacation.
Barefoot Resort & Golf - Fazio Course
Played On 06/08/2017Going to the beach
This course is a great mental challenge. Fazio screws with you making the fairways look nonexistent from the tee and more menacing from different points of a respective hole. Trust yourself. That's the biggest challenge. If you keep swinging, you'll be fine. Views are great. Conditions were surprisingly good, given the rain recently.
Oyster Bay Golf Links
Played On 06/07/2017Great but needs TLC
Oyster Bay has phenomenal holes - including two island par-3s. The wildlife - gators and birds - and the views are tremendous. The place just needs maintenance. Cart paths are a wreck. The bunkers don't drain. There are a lot of patches, particularly in the rough, and we're not talking about "waste areas." The layout deserves better. Do play this course, but the Legends group needs to put some money into this place. It deserves it!
Caledonia Golf & Fish Club
Played On 06/05/2017Pristine
You don't go to Paris and skip the Louvre. It's the same for Myrtle Beach and Caledonia. From the drive to the course through the round, this is prime golf. Every hole is a postcard. Play it. Play it again.
Long Bay Club
Played On 06/04/2017A challenge
Great course. It's all about the green complexes here. Your approach shots have to be precise. This is a way of saying that Long Bay kicked my butt. Good fun, nonetheless.
Myrtle Beach National Golf Club - King's North Course
Played On 06/01/2017Must play
Have had problems with pace of play here before, but we got through in 4 hours. Great collection of holes. Course was in great condition. Have played here the last six years and will again.
Barefoot Resort & Golf - Love Course
Played On 05/31/2017Love the Love
Always on my play list for my annual trip here. Very friendly staff. Fun course with different ways to attack holes and some interesting greens. Pace of play was good even though it was crowded. (Wednesday's have discounted rates.
Barefoot Resort & Golf - Norman Course
Played On 05/30/2017Deserves more love!
By reading these reviews, you'd think this was a dog track. Really good golf. Not the elite crust of Myrtle, but a really fun. Good tee selection for different playing levels. Fun par-3s. Good conditions. Asthetically appealing. Good staff. Fun time.
