Fun day

Couldn’t ask for better weather. Paid 80 each player online and was told it was bumped up to 110. I don’t believe it’s worth 110 to play but it was a fun course. Greens were quick but a little chewed up. Overall, it was a nice day to play golf.

Need Improvement

This course has so much potential with a great layout. I"ve played this course 6 times or more, and the last two times out have been unbearable. I played on a Tuesday two weeks ago and I had to walk off the course because I was at 3 hours and 15 minutes after only 10 holes. This past Thursday our round was 5.5 hours and this is completely unacceptable. The course was in great shape (excluding bunkers). The fairways were firm and the greens were rolling quick but you have got to start doing something about the pace of play or I won't drive 45 minutes to play here.

Always A Pleasure

Oak Creek is a Tom Fazio designed course located in Irvine. The course has large sweeping fairways and strategically placed bunkers. Shot selection is important if you want to mark a good score here. The course usually runs about $150 and is worth it considering the average price of other well-known courses in the area. I was lucky to grab a late round for my second 18 holes today and the course was in pretty good shape. The tee boxes were relatively flat and the fairways had some roll. I thought the greens could have used a little TLC but I can chalk that up to a late round and not too many people replacing their divots. I've probably played this course 25 times and it's always my favorite round of the week when I do. The staff is always pleasant and they have an exceptional practice facility if you want to work on your game before or after your round.
