Silverhorn Golf Club
Played On 08/20/2017Not worth the money, overbooked, and upkeep is lacking
This course is a little off in a lot of ways. The fairways and greens were in decent shape, however the sand traps were muddy clay pits, some of which were unplayable. Course setup was interesting, some very easy holes, a few par 4's are almost driveable to the green, coupled with some very tough holes where proper course management and hitting it straight are a must. I was just passing through the area but for what they charged I would expect much more. I was part of a 3-some playing at a decent pace and it seemed we were always on the heels of the people in front of us and the same for the people behind us, it was just an extremely slow pace of play overall.
Tiffany Greens Golf Club
Played On 07/23/2017Good course for the price
I have played Tiffany Greens a few times but just now getting around to writing a review. The staff is always friendly. They have a decent driving range, one of the few where you don't have to hit from matts. I think they only offer one size of range balls though, wish they offered a small bag or bucket for those just wanting to warm up before a round. The course itself is always in pretty good shape, some of the greens have been a little bumpy but they are in good shape for the most part. The layout is fairly straight with some slight doglegs, usually getting out the driver on Par 4 and 5's. A fair amount of wildlife around, on hole 1 there are always geese hanging around between the fairway and the green. I saw a deer drinking from a pond last time as well. It can get backed up at times or you may have someone rushing you from behind, in those cases I tend to let them play through. Overall a good course at a fair price.
St. Joseph Country Club
Played On 07/22/2017Pricey but worth playing once
I have not played at a private Country Club so I was kind of shocked to see STJCC on GolfNow, I have heard it was nice so I wanted to check it out for myself. The staff is very courteous but the food/drink options are pretty limited, also did not see a cart girl. The course is in great shape all around, the only negative of the course is that none of the holes are marked, it is fairly straightforward for the most part and helps to use the GolfNow GPS if you get mixed up. If you don't mind shelling out $60 to play it once, then I would recommend but definitely not spending that much to play there often. One of the best things about it was how laid back it is, not busy at all and the members I did encounter were all very friendly and helpful. One hiccup was they were running sprinklers on hole 12 or 13 while I was playing so I had to dodge those on a chip and a putt.
Falcon Lakes Golf Course
Played On 06/03/2017Ranger and Members are pushy and rude!!!
Very good course conditions, and a nice course overall. The main thing that turned this from a positive review into a negative review was being constantly rushed by the Ranger to pick up the pace, which was impossible because there was always someone right in front of us. I shoot in the 80's and the guy I was playing with is a scratch golfer, while we aren't in a hurry we certainly were not taking any longer than normal. We let one 3-some in a rush play through then it got to the point where it didn't matter if we let groups play through but the members insisted on telling us to hurry up while approaching the tee box, real classy! Despite all the positive reviews about the course I'd look elsewhere if you are looking to enjoy your round of golf without being rushed by the Ranger and their members.
