Highlands Reserve Golf Club
Played On 09/27/2020Highland Reserve Going Downhill
Played Highland Reserve this morning. The greens had recently been aerofied, so the greens were bumpy and slow. Many greens had evidence of weeds, St Augustine in them. Many greens had significant bare patches in them. Many tees are starting to show a lot of weeds.
The pace of play is horrible. Not what drove the decision to switch the nines, but the course now starts with a par 4, followed by a short, possibly drivable par 4, a par 3, then a reachable par 5. This sequence is a recipe for back ups, and having tee times 8 minutes apart isn’t helping. Waited on every single shot through 18, some times with 2 group on tees at the same time. This course has very little tree cover, and none on the 2nd nine, standing around waiting on every shot in the heat gets very old
I remember my first few rounds at Highland Reserve a couple of years ago, the facility and experience were immaculate, it’s really too bad how much the ownership has let this course go.
ChampionsGate Golf Club - National
Played On 07/25/2018Course in great shape - but no drinking water on course
The National course was in great shape considering the amount of rain it has recently received. The one big negative was that the water coolers past 4 were empty - ran out of water on 8 - it was 93, with humidity near 100% - a really dangerous situation in Central Florida in July - really disappointing for a hiigh end property
