Hill Country Golf Club - Lakes/Creeks
Played On 12/17/2017Hit it straight!
Fairways are tighter than most area courses, so straight drives are needed to score well. Course was a little soggy from rain the previous day which added to the challenge by eliminating some of the roll. Lots of contour on the greens and still pretty fast even with the rain. Course amenities and facilities are first class.
The Golf Club of Texas
Played On 12/01/2017Fast smooth greens!
These are the smoothest greens in town. Start your putt on the right line and speed and they roll true and fast. Good fairways and fairly thick rough you want to avoid. If you hit into the native grass you have a lost ball. Enjoyed my round and look forward to playing here again soon.
Olmos Basin Golf Course
Played On 11/15/2017Slow greens, but good overall.
Greens definitely slower than most area courses. Green #2 was in bad shape, but others were ok. Fairways were in good shape and rough was fairly forgiving. Have played here a number of times and it is one of the most forgiving courses with chances to score lower than your handicap.
Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort
Played On 10/08/2017Fast greens, great fairways
Water levels were down from when I last played in the spring, so not quite as scenic. Course was in great shape especially the fairways. Very fast greens with some brutal pin positions. Rough was thick so try to avoid it. Only negative is that there is very little water on the courses and we only saw the cart girl on hole 1. Fill up with drinks at the start or at the turn! Lots of wildlife.
Canyon Springs Golf Club
Played On 02/17/2017Tough but challenging
Course was in very good condition, especially the fairways for this time of year. Lots of undulations on the greens, but they roll true. Stay out of the native grass, you will never find your ball if you hit into it. Would like to play again.
SilverHorn Golf Club of Texas
Played On 04/01/2016Short but challenging.
You can use your driver to go for some of the greens, or use a shorter club and play to your favorite layup distances. Lots of options for each hole.
Landa Park Municipal Golf Course
Played On 11/23/2015Fast greens
Had playing this remodeled course on my list for a while and finally got to play it. Will definitely come back to play again soon. Not a long course , but challenging and fast greens with contour that makes it a good course to test your skills. Friendly staff and a good deal on the green fees.
Nine Hole at Riverside Municipal Golf Course
Played On 11/25/2012Favorite SA muni
Love this course! SA golf trail has done a great job since taking over the city courses, but Riverside is my favorite. Not too long, so plays well to my game. First course to break 100 on (99), normally shoot around 110-115.
