At one time this was one of the nicest public golf courses in the county. However the present management only caters to the winter tourist trade and could care less about the people who live in Florida full that keep this place running all summer.
Granted it has been dry down here ,but they have not been watering and are about to lose their greens.
We played yesterday and they had punched the greens on the front 9 so the guy at the pro shop said to play the back 9 twice. Which would have been fine ,but by the time we got back around to 10 they had already dumped sand on the greens and were getting ready to punch them. Went back to the pro shop and talked to Ed and he said just play the front 9 that it is a little rough ,but playable. Have you ever tried to putt through a bag of dog food ? That is what the greens looked like from all of the dirt from them punching the greens the day before.
We have been playing this course for 3 years ,but no more.

My wife and I played this course for the second time.
The course is in good shape. The grounds keepers need to be told that when a golfer is getting ready to tee off they don't need to be driving within 10 feet of the tee box and kicking up dirt. Very distracting.
Other than that we had a great time.
The restaurant was closed for remodeling so we did not get a chance to try that.

The course as always is in fine shape .Considering how hot is has been most other courses are losing their greens. Not here,they are in really good shape.

It used to be one of our favorite courses,but the lack of attention to the greens have made it all but inpossible to putt on some holes.
I guess you can't expect much for $ 10.00 on a hot deal. Last year it was our go to place.Not so much anymore.

First time playing course, will not be the last.

First time playing course. Everything went well at first. We were paired up with a pleasant couple from Holland which was the best part of the round.
I guess the members or the regulars feel they own the course and were deliberately slow and very rude.
Their attitudes took away from what could have been a nice afternoon..
The course has some strange layouts with the tee boxes way too close to the green on a par 3 .
You must watch or get bombed while teeing off if someone hits a slice on the par 3.

First time playing the course. The weather was chilly ,but sunny.
Found out that the greens are small and crowned. With it being winter and the grass being dead ,it was hard to keep the ball on the green. Can't wait until summer to come and try this course again.

We started early so we could get ahead of 3 foursomes. We caught 2 more foursomes that let us play through.
We have had problems this winter with snowbirds who play really slow and won't let a 2 some play through.
We caught a couple of gentlemen on hole 11 who invited us to join them. It turned out one of the guys was stationed at the same army post I was at the same time.
Great guys ,my wife and I enjoyed their company.
Good conditions great weather! Great round of golf.

The course is well maintained. We were paired up with a nice gentleman and enjoyed his company. We started behind a foursome with 2 kids. They were hitting 2 balls each on every hole which really slowed us down. They could use a ranger to check pace of play.
We were behind by 35 minutes after nine holes.

We booked our round and got to the course and found out they have a nine hole scramble at 3pm on Thursday. With the golfers that were already holding us up by not letting faster players ,play through and the scramble .
We waited at least 10 minutes between shots on every hole.

We played this course almost every day 2 years ago and it was great.
Not so much now. the greens are the worse shape of any golf course in the area that we have played and we have played most of them.
bald spots,patches of green, sand everywhere. Almost impossible to read.
The fairways are in great shape. They should play the course backwards. Tee off from the greens and putt on the tee boxes , which are smoother than the greens. I know they had a problem with the greens, but for what they are charging. Had I not got a hot deal. I would have been upset.

They lost the back 9 a year ago and have tried to fix it. We have seen notices and recieved emails saying it was open and in great shape.
That is not true. The greens are terrible, too many bald spots won't roll true.
If you like tight lies ,you will like this course. There is so much bare dirt that is very hard to use your clubs bounce to make good shots and get any spin on the ball.

First time playing course.Won't be last. Great deal for the money. 594 yard par 5 from the whites on # 3 into the wind was tough.
Some good dogleg holes, One long tight par 3 .
Good change from most Florida courses ,had sort of a links course feeling.

We had played the course earlier this year and it was dryed out, but with all of the rain lately. The greens were in good shape. Really windy but a great day .

My wife bought us a round of golf for my birthday. When she mentioned to the counter person that it was my birthday,he gave us each a bucket of range balls.
the course was in excellent condition. The greens are the best we have played on in a while as Florida greens suffer on most courses in the summer time. Especially this year with all of the rain.
We recomend you play this course, for the price on Golf now it is a good deal.

Could not read greens,because of sand.
Easy to lose balls just off fairway in rough.
Had a good time and just missed thunderstorm.

After playing quite a few courses in central Fl. It is great to see to greens not in transition.
My wife and I had played the Oaks before,but not the Meadows. It was a very relaxing round. Few other golfers for a Saturday morning so pace was great.
The overall condition of the course was excellent and the Golf now price made this a good deal.
Too easy if you don't play from the back tee's.

Have played the course many times in the last few years. The fairways are really good and the changes have made the course easier.
The greens are really bare and bumpy on some holes.
Hard to putt on. Other holes are good.
I would not pay full price for course. There are other courses in the area that are just as nice ,but cheaper.
Booked on Golfnow and played for $ 20.00 otherwise would not play there until greens are fixed.

The new owners are working to make it better.The cousre has been reversed,the back 9 is now the front and so it was different.
The greens need some work ,but overall a nice round,especially now that most of the snowbirds have gone home.
Pace of play was great as there was only a few people on the course.

My wife and I played Pine Barrens and found the course to be in great shape. I hope you like sand,because this course has it everywhere.
Well placed shots are rewarded with scoring opportunities,just don't get overconfident. this course can bite back.
Not a great course for beginners.
