Brookfield Golf and Country Club
Played On 07/31/2015Poor pace of play
This is the second round I've played at Brookfield in two season. The course was in great shape with green fairways, rough was a good length and the greens were receptive. The only issue is the pace of play as there is no marshal on the course. My playing partner and I were walking the course, caught up to the group ahead (threesome in carts) after 3 holes. There was no where to go due an extremely slow foursome two groups ahead that refused to let faster groups play through. The only reason we finished in 4 hours was due to a heavy downpour that chased a lot of people from the course. After the rain stopped, the slow group still refused to let us through (14th hole).
Glen Arbour Golf Course
Played On 10/10/2014Nice course but missing a few things
Glen Arbour is nice course that is always in good shape but the value isn't there. $90 - $100 is too much for this course when there are other great deals just outside Halifax. The golfnow deals are excellent when you can get them. For the money you pay, this course is missing two common things that every other course in the world has: colored flags and pin placements! Some of the greens are 40 or 50 yards deep with a few tiers but the course doesn't use color coded flags or pin sheets. The only hole I don't care for is #10, the rest of the course is great. The finishing stretch of 15 to 18 is a great walk around the lake.
Sherwood Golf and Country Club
Played On 09/24/2014Outstanding place to play
I've played this course a fair number of times but this was my first through golfnow and it was a steal of a deal! The course is in great shape and the greens roll true. The grounds are well kept, the wildlife on the course is nice to see and the staff is some of the friendliest in the province.
