Lochmere Golf & Country Club
Played On 08/11/2021Nice Course at a Great Price
A fun layout with lots of rolling terrain. The course is in fantastic shape. Greens are rolling true. Great value at $47. Hard to beat in NH.
North Conway Country Club
Played On 08/17/2017Classic Course, Definitely worth the Price of Admission
North Conway CC is a classic track set in a beautiful part of the White Mountain region. The views from the course are awesome. The layout is fair and the course conditions were excellent when I played. The course is not overly long (about 6600 from the tips), but it is full of small, challenging greens that test your distance control and short game. The staff was professional and extremely courteous. I will definitely be back soon to play again.
Tradition Golf Club at Oak Lane
Played On 07/26/2014Nicely maintained daily fee course
This course is a pretty good value. Some very tough, fast greens. Par 5s are extremely challenging here, but the rest of the course is a fun, fair layout.
Franklin Canyon Golf Course
Played On 06/28/2014Fun for a quick round
I was traveling in SF and on a whim decided to play with 2 friends at Franklin Canyon. We enjoyed a beautiful Saturday morning round. Course played pretty easy due to the favorable wind conditions. Greens were average at best, but I can't really complain given how dry the conditions have been in the area. Overall, I enjoyed the day and would go back if I'm in the SF/Berkeley area again.
The Links at Spanish Bay™
Played On 06/25/2014Hidden Gem of the Monterey Peninsula
Everybody knows about Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill. I recently played all three. While Pebble is unforgettable and Spyglass is the toughest course of the three, Spanish Bay was perhaps the most enjoyable overall round. The course has a beautiful links layout that winds through the dunes. It is challenging but accessible. The greens have amazing contours. Good luck if you hit it on the wrong level. Pace of play is great because many fewer people play than at Spyglass and Pebble. I would highly recommend it to anybody coming to Monterey. Paying for a caddie is well worth the price because your round will be more enjoyable.
