The Grand Bear Golf Course
Played On 11/01/2014Best in the area
Typical Nicklaus course, you have to play to spots to score best but the landing areas off tee shots are generous so errant shots can be recoverable. Par 3s mostly dependent on pin placement. Greens challenging but very readable and predictable and smooth and quick. Plenty of opportunities around the greens to chip close or even hole out if you miss the greens in regulation. All in all a very nice, well maintained and beautiful course to play.
Old Corkscrew Golf Club

Very tough course demanding accuracy and great putting. More humps on greens than a used camel lot. Approach accuracy is essential. Even tougher when the wind is up. Great shots rewarded, mistakes punished harshly. But fun to play and very pleasing visually.
Resort quality
Course in excellent shape even with aerified greens. Still putted well with good speed and break. Almost all holes had forced carry from the tee but wide open fairways with lush grass. I will be back.

Rosedale Golf & Country Club
Played On 5/19/2013Tough but fair, greens excellent, challenging layout.
Drives require a straight start but can be worked. Off course areas are open so your ball may not get lost but still will need management to avoid double bogey. Greens in top notch shape, a bit slow when wet but readable. Some pins can be hard to score on if you don't hit to the proper area. Overall, a great test of all facets of the game.
Hernando Oaks Golf & Country Club

Pace OK, slower players mostly cooperative. Pro shop had little selection of merchandise. Golf was above average.
