White Heron Golf Club
Played On 03/13/2022Fun layout
I played this course 20 years ago, and only remembered liking it. We played twice on Sunday. The morning was cold and still wet from a storm. The greens were very slow. As the day warmed and the course dried, they sped up and played much more nicely. For 18 holes it's a good value, the replay rate makes it a great value for 36.
Golf staff and dining staff were excellent and food was very good.
Bring a few balls, as there is some water, but the play is fair and the map on the card and tee markers should will help.
Panther Lake at Orange County National
Played On 03/08/2019Great course, all about golf.
We were second out, so pace was super. The course is in perfect shape, and one of my favorite designs. Play the proper tees, and enjoy the round.
Restaurant and amenities are very basic. Houses now surround the course where there was wilderness. Scenery at noise levels suffer greatly as a result.
Staff is friendly and helpful.
A Hidden Classic
This course is being brought back from some years of lacking care. A lesser course would probably have gotten 3 stars, but this is a great layout and the greens were beautiful. The rest is coming along. On a nice morning, playing a Ross design on the ocean is about as good as it gets for me. Nice folks, too!
Come try us again this year! We've gotten even better!
Panther Lake at Orange County National
Played On 02/10/2017Top dollar, but solid golf course.
Panther is one of my favorites. Both courses are in great shape right now. Pace is rarely fast, but it's not easy golf. Relax and have fun. If you want to play cheap, there are other options, but OCN is probably in better shape.
