Too Close for Comfort

This is a nice, well laid out and maintained course, and the weekend fee is reasonable. My three complaints are: (1) the fairways are extremely tight, and the holes are so close together that you constantly hear shouts of "fore" from golfers on adjoining holes; (2) the pace of play on a Saturday morning was 5.25 hours; and (3) there is no water on the course, except the bottles you can purchase from the drink cart. If you hit it straight, don't mind a marathon round and pack your own water, you should love this place. I might give it another try mid-week during the shoulder seasons.

Top Notch Track

Shaker Hills is one of my favorite courses anywhere. I love everything about it. The layout is fantastic and includes lots of elevation changes, dramatic boulders, and stunning views. The condition are terrific. The practice facilities are very good, except the astroturf mats on the range, and unlimited use of the practice facilities is included in your greens fee. The staff could not be friendlier or more helpful -- they seem to understand what many golf shop attendants do not today -- the fee-paying golfer is the customer and deserves to be treated as such. I hesitated before writing this review because I do not want to drive more traffic to this gem of a course. But they deserve the praise -- keep doing what you are doing! I will be back, again and again.

Miserable Conditions and Sloooooooow!!

Green were absolutely atrocious. Half dead and other half shag carpet. Leaves and debris all over greens. No water on course. 5.5 hour round, no Marshall’s to keep things going. Play somewhere else until they get their act together.

Disappointing g

I have played the North course at Stow acres approximately 15 years ago and had remembered it as a beautiful, well-maintained track. I played it again yesterday with my son on memorial day and was sorely disappointed. The greens were absolutely awful, with large areas of damage and disease. They were also covered with leaves and debris… The staff had not even bothered to blow the greens. Also, they looked like they hadn’t been cut in 10 days or more. The pace of play was abysmal… It took Us over five hours to play the round, and we only saw one Marshall the whole time. I would definitely not recommend this course to anyone.
