Highlander Golf Club
Played On 04/23/2018Need to Mow
2nd time for me playing Highlander. I enjoy the layout. However, I was disappointed in the condition of the course this time. For a muni course I thought the rough was extremely deep.. Balls just off the fairway were sometimes hard to find and the thick deep rough was very punishing to hit from. Fun track that seems to play quite a bit longer than the posted yardage in my opinion. They just need to step up the maintenance and grooming and get the mowers out there more often.
Suncadia Resort - Rope Rider Course
Played On 05/21/2017Loved It
We drove over to Suncadia from Seattle to find some sunny weather and a dry golf course. We played the Rope Rider course for the 1st time. I was impressed. The course was in excellent condition except for a couple sand traps that were hard packed and hadn't been raked recently. The greens rolled very nicely and true. I would have liked them a bit faster but they weren't slow. The course is a very fair track. The fairways are generous and there's lots of room for the tee shots, even if you stray a bit. The greens were accessible. They were firm but still held a good shot. We saw the marshal several times and that helped keep the pace moving. I'll be back again later this summer. It's well worth the drive over from the Seattle area.
Desert Aire Golf Course
Played On 05/08/2017Pleasantly suprised
When driving from Seattle to the Tri-Cities I have passed Desert Aire GC many times and never stopped and played. I guess I just had low expectations because it's kind of in the middle of no where. On Monday I decided to stop and play since I was running early and the weather was perfect.
Wow, glad I stopped. I found a very fun, well manicured and well maintained golf course. The greens were perfect. The fairways were lush and the ball sits up nicely. I thought the course layout was interesting with lots of variety. The person in the pro shop was extremely nice and helpful. The cost made it an excellent value. I would recommend this course to others. Now that I've discovered Desert Aire, I will be stopping by again for sure.
Cedarcrest Golf Course
Played On 05/07/2017Horrible condition
When we entered the pro shop to pay we were met by a very rude young staffer behind the desk. One word answers just kind of barked back at as. No customer service whatsoever. He seemed put out that he had to talk with us.
The course was in terrible shape. The worst course conditions I've played in many a year. The fairways were long, the rough was extremely long and had not been mowed for several weeks. If you hit the ball off the fairway by even 2 feet, most the time it was lost. We were playing on a busy Sunday. You would think they would mow the greens on both weekend days, right? Wrong, we were told they only mow them on Saturday. Therefore, the greens were extremely slow and very bumpy. Every other golfer we interacted with that day had the same complaints and several commented that the greens fees should have been half off to play. On the plus side, the two Marshall's that we're driving around We're extremely nice and very friendly.
Palouse Ridge Golf Club at Washington State University
Played On 09/24/2015A Must Play
Played Palouse Ridge at the beginning of our Eastern Washington buddies trip. Well worth the drive to Pullman. Excellent layout, very nice fairways and excellent conditioned bent grass greens. The $45 senior rate we paid included the cart and was an awesome value for a high quality golf course. A must play if you ask me.
We had lunch afterwards and the food and service was excellent.
Palm Royale Country Club
Played On 05/03/2015Fun Par 3 Couse
We stayed in a condo at Palm Royale CC. We played the course our last day there and had a blast. 18 par 3's ranging from 81 yards to 150+. Great place to work on your wedge and short iron game. The greens were a bit slow but the course was in great shape overall. It was a fun way to finish off the trip after playing the long championship courses all week.
World class golf course. Monterey Penninsula courses are in crap-condition for the general public. Palouse Ridge is always in tournament condition.
