I’ve been going to HHI on a buddies trip for years. I’m now in a relationship with someone who plays golf and I asked the guys what 2 courses they would take their wives for a long weekend. Golden Bear was mentioned by everyone.

I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the greens. Most courses in which area have had major issues with their greens. Several courses are closed because of the havoc wreaked by old man winter.

I played some premier courses earlier in the week who had re-sodded their greens. From what I saw elsewhere, I figured I would be putting on terrible greens - especially considering the price. Hats off to the maintenance!

Well worth the price and the drive

Sea Trail is a solid destination and is well worth a try. I've always enjoyed my rounds there.

My rating is low because the course was wet and there wasn't any rain all week. To be fair, there was a lot of rain previously, but the course was still too wet to mow. We spent a lot of time trying to find balls in the fairway, but amazingly still managed to get through in 4.5 hours.

I played on a tough day with temps in the mid-40's with a 15 mph wind. There were a good number of maintenance workers taking care of the course.

I look forward to playing the course again on another trip to Myrtle Beach.

This was the last round of golf we played on a golf trip. We were glad that we were able to play Crescent Pointe because it's always been a solid course. This is a course for golfers in that you need to make quality golf shots. The course rewards good golf shots and you can get in trouble hurry if you start hitting it sideways.

This is always one of the courses we when we come down to help. It's never disappointed.

I have always enjoyed playing Thistle. The staff is friendly, the course is a good test, and pace of play is good.

Looking forward to the remaining greens being converted to Bermuda grass. That will help with pitch marks and improve the experience on the greens.

This is a great course and has a lot of marsh views. Pick your tees wisely because you can get over hour playing ability. Saw several gators so be careful searching for balls in water.

the only down side is the greens are not consistent from hole to hole.

This is an inexpensive course to play and the conditions bear that out. If you are looking for pristine conditions then look elsewhere. If you are looking for a low price warm-up round then go ahead.

The greens need attention. They could stand to be rolled more frequently. There are NOT large areas that need to be re-done, just simply smoothed out so you can trust your putting stroke.

The only reason I'm so harsh on the course is the fact that there are many other choices extremely close. But, the other courses are a little more expensive.

Bull Run is worth a try. Off the 3rd tee there were 2 deer laying down watching us. On the 4th fairway another deer was crossing. There are some challenging holes, but the course is in front of you, except possibly for 18. If you are a little off target you can still play the course.

The tee boxes looked like they have southern grass so they were a little patchy, but might be fantastic in the summer.
