Greens in bad shape

Course is in nice condition except for the greens. The greens were cut so short that there was no green on them. I believe 3 of the greens had enough grass to putt normally, the other ones were like putting on pavement. Would not play here again until the greens recover.

Thank you for sharing your experience from your recent round of golf at Quarry Pines. I apologize for the discoloration on some of our greens as we transition our winter Poa Trivialis out to allow room for the summer Bermuda to expand and grow. Over the past two weeks our maintenance team have dethatched the greens multiple times which cleans out winter grass making room for Bermuda to grow laterally. This would explain the thin areas you saw on some of the greens. I hope that despite the visual appeal of some of the greens on the course while we transition seeming thin, our putting surfaces were still smooth and rolled at an acceptable speed.

I can assure you that our greens will continue to improve over the next few weeks as the temperatures are over 100 daily which helps the Bermuda thrive on our greens. In addition we have added fertilizer and watering amount to accelerate the transition.

If you would like to discuss your round further with me please call Donn Hess, General Manager, 520-744-7443 ext.7007
