Blue Hills Golf Course
Played On 07/12/2023This course offers a great layout and conditions
I played Blue Hills for the first time while visiting the area on 7/12/2023. I was looking for a place which I could play for around $40 and I was impressed with the condition based on price. I wasn’t expecting much but walked away feeling like I should have payed more.
I was paired with 3 regulars and was thankful I did. Jim, Fred, and Greg were a joy to join with. They helped me to navigate the course, and offered valuable assistance when asked. I wouldn’t mind being paired with them again when I return to the area.
The layout of the course was my favorite. Being from the coast of South Carolina, the elevation changes were really nice.
The conditions of the course were way more than I expected for the price. The greens rolled perfectly, the fairways and tee boxes were cared for, the rough offered a level of difficulty like it should, and the areas around the course weren’t let go but kept nice too. The forgiveness of the course made it that much better too.
I highly recommend Blue Hills and would play again. Having your name called over the speakers for your group to tee off was a nice touch.
Look forward to returning the next time we are in the area.

Enjoyed a nice round of golf at TGC and I highly recommend playing this course. I drove from Summerville. First time playing this course and I tied my all time best score (91) for a round so far. I’m somewhere between beginner and intermediate. I average mid 90’s. Really liked the layout, the views were gorgeous and look forward to returning again.
Some of the par 4’s played long for me, however, some of the par 5’s are reachable in two. You can make up for the long par 4’s by going for the green in two on a couple of the 5’s. One in particular, I had a good drive off the tee. If I wouldn’t have went to the right side of the green I would have made it on with my 6 iron in two. It was nearly pin high. It seems I need to work on my aim/set up.
The greens and tee boxes need a little TLC but they seem to be on the mend. I Look forward to seeing them in better shape in the future. I was able to secure my tee time through golf now at a really good rate. This was especially beneficial with the current state of the greens. Overall, I highly recommend this course and look forward to going back in the future.

If you want to see where your game is, play this course. At least for me, it was a bit challenging but fun. It seemed to play a little long for my normal club choices.
The greens were in fair shape but they have noticeable wear. Overall, they didn’t contribute to my putting woes, that’s all on me.
This is my first round at the course and managed to hit 11 out of 14 fairways. By far the best driving day I have had to date for any course I’ve played. I was surprised, but my driver was on fire. But, Fairways hit doesn’t necessarily equate to better scores, as my card reflects.
My suggestion, get the yardage book and study the course layout then manage your game accordingly. Your bound to have an enjoyable round.
In closing, book a tee time and play this course, you won’t be sorry.
