Sherman Hills Golf Club
Played On 11/11/2019Fun fair challenge
Good challenge with some forgiveness for inaccurate shots on most holes. Fairways and greens in excellent shape. Friendly management with good information knowing it was my first time on the course.

Saint Clair Shores Country Club
Played On 07/22/2019Surprise
For a public course that gets an extreme high level of play, I was very surprised about the excellent conditions. The course is short and flat, but still has its challenges requiring good shots.
The Country Club of Mount Dora
Played On 11/18/2017Great variety, challenging layout
Great mix of short, long, tight and open. Water on 16 holes but even an average golfer will only find it coming into play and altering a shot or making for a serious challenge on 3 or 4 holes. Greens fast and true. Fun course, excellent challenge.
Royal Oaks Golf Club
Played On 11/13/2017Nice layout and variety of challenge
Greens in top condition and fairly easy to read.
Friendly helpful staff.
Verona Hills Golf Course
Played On 08/16/2017Challenging approach to fast greens
An errant shot can cost you big time. Very challenging course requiring soft high shots to greens. A good drive on the fairway can still leave a difficult shot due to the pitches, mounds and hills on the fairway. Several blind shots. A very difficult course, but interesting well maintained layout.
Myth Golf & Banquet - Regulation Course
Played On 09/22/2016Unique
Played here 10 years ago and was extremely disappointed with conditions. I was pleasantly surprised given the vastly improved greens and fairways now. They were top notch. The layout is a bit quirky with doglegs and hazards but a fun challenge. Lots of bumpy cart travel on boardwalks over marshland.
Glacier Club
Played On 06/01/2016approach shot critical
Caught up to two slow foursomes on the back nine but weather was perfect and the course fun. New condo construction detracts from the view but course layout not negatively impacted. Missing the green on many holes means very difficult wedge shots, so plan your approach shots carefully.
Southern Hills Golf Club
Played On 04/09/2015elevations and vistas
Traveling south on I-75 from Michigan, my wife and I played a round. Enjoyed it so much stayed in the area and played the next day also. Greens, fairways and bunkers in great shape.
Can be played long or short and each hole has a very different challenge from each of the 4 tees. Large greens so watch pin placement carefully. Also watch fairway pitch and elevations.
Eagle Ridge Golf Club - Champions Course
Played On 11/30/2014complete fun challenge
All four nines can satisfy any level of golfer depending on which of 5 tees are played. Although in a housing community, the course is expansive and does not have that closed in housing development atmosphere. Great atmosphere, practice facilities and organization.
Century Oaks Golf Club
Played On 07/05/2014Tricky middle nine
Tees, fairways and greens are in excellent condition.
The course has had significant improvement over the past 10 years.
The middle three holes - 4,5 and 6 require a clear knowledge of yardage that can only be determined by playing these holes a second time. Distance to and over the hazard needs clear marking with a visible post from the tee - narrow and tricky.
This is a fun short course for a casual round. A serious golfer could be easily frustrated by some slow beginner play.
Ubly Heights Golf Course
Played On 06/06/2014Great mix of holes
The first three holes are forgiving links type and offer the average golfer a good chance of par. Things get more demanding and scenic starting with Hole #4. Conditions are excellent. Soft lush fairways and large well conditioned greens moderately fast. The course is fun to play.
Crowfield Golf & Country Club
Played On 03/22/2014Mini mogul challenge
The first time on this course makes it very difficult.
Both sides of fairways are lined with mini moguls and greens are well protected with large deep traps and elevation. Greens are very fast and difficult to hold. Bring your GPS since the layout is hard to read especially if you miss the fairway. A challenge for single digit handicappers.
Santee National Golf Club
Played On 03/20/2014A fun challenge
Excellent layout with a chance for the good to average golfer to score well. Yet, plenty of challenge.
Very pleasant scenery away from noise and housing.
Would play this course many time if lived in the area and will for certain plain again when traveling in the area.
Juliette Falls
Played On 11/17/2013Fantastic
Outstanding in every way. Only one concern - needs distance markers preferably on sprinkler heads. Bring your GPS. Also, be prepared for bunker play-well protected greens and fairways.
Links of Spruce Creek South
Played On 11/07/2013Enjoyable good test of your golf skills.
Course has lots of play but moves along quickly. Not a place for slow or novice players. Interesting layout with good mix of holes. Greens in great shape but on the slow side.
Country Club of Silver Springs Shores
Played On 11/04/2013Big Greens and Big Fairways
Very enjoyable course with huge well conditioned greens. Big hitters only on back tees since drive needs to be 260 yards plus on several holes. Nice layout with good variety ending with a monster challenge on 18.
Blackheath Golf Club
Played On 09/25/2013Long, short, anyway you want it.
A perfect course for a sunny no wind 75 degree day. A links feel but has some shade areas with surrounding woods but they do not come into play. Wind would make this course very difficult.
From the back tees, the course would be too much for a handicapper above 9. Go blue tee or white which is more of a senior tee. Approaches to greens have a high level of challenge. Greens are large and well maintained but not super fast.
Fun interesting course.
East/South at Links of Novi, The
Played On 9/19/2013Tight and scenic for a suburban course
Large greens that would ordinarily be challenging but were recently aerated. Played East to South. East greens were not sanded with dimples 1-2 inches deep and impressions the size of dimes - putting with accuracy hopeless. South greens not much better.
Course plays short so an accurate driver and wedges are key. Never used a 7, 8 or 9 iron. Did use a 5 iron and hybrid 4 on some par 4's along with a 3 wood on par 5's.
Fortunately got out before an outing and things moved well.
Stony Creek Golf Course
Played On 9/04/2013Good variety of holes with plenty of trees lining the fairways
Fun challenge. Ground is hard packed especially on approach to the green - soft landing a must. If you run hard toward the green expect a long roll.
Hilltop Golf Course
Played On 07/12/2013Up and Down
As the name implies, most often you are teeing off from a hilltop, down a valley and up to the green. Greens often hard to read - several very slow, some fast even when correctly reading elevation. Lots of elevation on greens in very good condition. This is a tight course. Some nice scenery but you might also see activity on three holes when playing your hole.
Fairways are narrow and require accuracy especially on doglegs. You may need to be extreme right or left in order to have a good shot to the green. A bit odd there was not a starter on a crowded day but players moved along at a moderate pace.
