I Once loved this course

First of all, they need to spread the tee times out a bit, and even on a cold day like 12/1, use a starter. The pace of play was the worst I have ever experienced. I had been talking this course up to my buddies for almost a year, and then we finally go, and we only finished 13 holes in 4 1/2 hours. I mean, at my local course on a busy day I'll finish 18 in 3 hours maybe 3 1/2. With this being said, if this is how they do business there I'm over it, bummer thing is I have a groupon, I don't even want anymore. My friends complained the whole Way home. I saw 2 or 3 marshals on the course, who seriously just roamed the course, instead of trying to figure out why 12 people were stopped on a hole, and actually doing something about it, they just drove by doing nothing. What a waist. I feel used. Honestly I would like my money back, I'd also like my 4 1/2 hours back too!! Now going by past experiences, I loved the course, wether or not this was an abnormally busy day, it shouldn't matter, if a course is run correctly, than the pace of play should be perfect. Sometimes all it takes is for a marshal to mention hitting 3 or 4 balls per player when you have 3 groups of 4 behind you to get a group moving, but nothing was said, nothing was done.

Frank

I would first like to thank you for choosing our family owned and operated facility. This is extremely concerning and trust me it will be taken care of. Moreover, we truly realize you have a choice when it comes to your golfing needs and your experience on 12/1 is NOT ok with me or my family. I won't make any excuses for what happened like many other courses do and will take full responsibilities for your slow pace. I will also make it right with you and your friends the best way I know how and for starters round your fees from that day. Second, invite your entire group back at my expense along with a full complimentary breakfast or lunch of your choosing in our brand new bar and restaurant. In light of full disclosure, As you and the public well know pace of play is the bigger problem in golf and one in which we take very seriously. We have several best practices and SOP's that are in place to manage POP on a daily basis. Again, no excuse but what caused this issue for your group and everyone else that day was a small event of older golfers and there was no fixing it once the damage was done. We wrote several refunds and offered numerous apologies as a result. It pains me that we missed you after you left. Please email me directly at kfitzgerald@roddyranch.com and I will more than make this right by you and your guests. Every single golfer that walks through our doors everyday is what and who we depend on for our business to survive. Your not just another golfer or round of golf at Roddy Ranch, I can promise you that. I know talk is cheap but as you will soon find out if given the opportunity, we mean what we say and I look forward to remedying this poor experience for you.

Apologies,

Kevin Fitzgerald

One of my favorites

Every time I come to VT, I stay at the Norman Rockwell home, and I golf at the Equinox. It's an absolutely amazing experience, so much history and beauty here. The course is very well taken care of, and the staff is ultra friendly!! Pace of play was perfect, my wife and I are here for our honeymoon, and they allowed her to join as a spectator for no extra fee, we had a blast!! I had a nice round shooting 80, though I plan to play one more round before I leave.. I must shoot par!! Also if you get a chance, the Marsh Tavern is quite good as well if you work up a hunger after play!! All in all, if you golf, and you haven't played here, you must, an absolutely wonderful course..
