The Bayonet at Bayonet/Black Horse Golf Course
Played On 10/23/2019Good and not so good
First off Early morning round at Bayonet .
Played as single with cart —- so no hold ups .
First 5 or 6 holes had just been cut and had grass cuttings all over them so extremely slow and irregular .
Ground staff were blowing off grass cuttings without much success.
Very patchy fairways for a quality course . Hard , compact sand in traps .
No rough , but some terrible unkempt areas just off the fairways .
Obviously a great looking course and excellent layout .
Check in at desk , moderately civil —- that’s about all . Why do they all typically treat players like they are better than you and are doing you a favour ?!
Starter much more friendly . .
Not worth the $150 printed green fee , but good at $69 through Golf Now ...
Valley at Marriott's Desert Springs Resort
Played On 02/12/2015Very poor greens
For the money the greens were in terrible condition while those on other courses were fine.
Sign at entrance where to go for golf was hidden behind landscaping .
No signs where to go to tee from cart pick up .
No-one at starter box at 7.30 am or clock to tell when to tee off.
Didn't see time display on cart till 15 th hole - over 4 hrs in to round so had to quit at 17 th hole to meet people . Only when I got to my car did I find out they hadn't changed the clocks on the cart to DST. !!!
Therefore wasting my time .
More signs would help in general -- it's not inconceivable people might be there for first time !!!
