Course in disarray

Sad state. I've played RedTail on and off over the years, last around November and it was in really great shape then.

But sadly their attempt at a winter over-seed did not go well. Every green was in terrible shape. They were offering a "$30 buy back rate" but I doubt I use it.

I know it's a gamble with a $54 rate in the winter, but this was kind of a shock. The rest of the course wasn't much better either, Lots of rocks in the bunkers, rough was spotty and tons of washout in a bunch of places.

Probably be a while before I give it another go.

Course looking good.

Red Tail was looking very good. The course was a little wet with the excess area rain, but you could tell the staff has handled it well. There were 4 cart path only holes, but the overall course wasn't that wet.

The greens were good. Rolled really nice. A few had some areas of crab grass, but overall zero complaints.

Fairways and rough were all fine.

The course has a unique design. Gotta know when and where to hit driver, but I enjoy it as a course to throw into the mix, definitely in the winter when other are over priced.

Not what it used to be

I've played the Ritz a lot over the years but had taken a break. This was my first time coming back in a bout a year. While I still love the course, and overall the quality of the course is good. It just doesn't meet the standards the Ritz once had. The price is a premium. There were spots of crab grass on the greens, areas of the rough and shrubbery that were unkept and some washed out bunkers. You can tell they were struggling with the recent bout of heavy rain, so low lying areas were green but higher levels were dry from watering that had probably been cut back.

I still love the layout of the course and the staff is great, but the course is hardly to the level of detail it once was. I anticipate they will rebound for the winter months. I'll return but may be another 6months or so to give them time to hopefully correct the current issues of the course.
