Wildhawk Golf Club

The Staff was courteous. Most of the tee-boxes need leveling. The greens were slow and untrue needing cutting and rolling. The fairways were in good shape the cuts were done well. After playing the course several times the greens can be found in varied conditions depending on when you are playing. Overall, a good round at the discounted rate..
La Contenta Golf Club

Found a great rate to play because of aerification, but the greens were no less than great! A little sand, but they rolled true and were FAST. A very nice foothill layout with just a couple of quirky holes, but all were fun to play. With a couple of truly 'big boy' holes, overall the course is well balanced for all levels of play. Now is the time to get a round in before the winter rain sets in...looks good!
Yocha Dehe Golf Club at Cache Creek Casino Resort
Played On 9/15/2013A Good Course, But...
Nice layout, but it's not all in front of you so it's very challenging to all first comers. The rough is punishing including around the greens so staying in the short stuff and managing your misses is important. The greens are normally very fast and true. However on our last round they had punched 3 wks back and they were still running very slow and needed badly to be rolled.
I rated the course 3 stars because I deducted one star for each of the issues I had with the course. The first is that they just can't charge these prices for a round and then give you greens that compare in performance to a muni with fuzzy super slow greens. At least notify with alerts about the aerification if it continues to affect normal play? Secondly, some compare this club to a resort and although it may appear that way, the club culture of overly focusing on pace of play and carts staying out of the 4" rough that hides balls says otherwise...between the marshals and the onboard display beeping at you it got pretty bad. A true resort promotes enjoyment of the facilities and not doing what we felt was 'nagging' to near the point of losing that enjoyment.
Bartley Cavanaugh Golf Course
Played On 7/02/2013A Shorter Course, But...
At around 6000 yds from the Blue Tees, Bartley Cavanaugh has to be a considered a shorter non-executive course, but the layout proves to make up for this with some challenges. There are some tight tee shots and fairway areas, but not on every hole. We played in the heat (over 100) so the course traffic was very light and that made it seem the course was ours. With some shorter par 4's one has a choice of how to play the holes with irons, hybrids, or fairway woods off the tee, but there are also several driver holes. The Greens run pretty true and can be fast. This course will allow you to play almost all the clubs in your bag and the best part about the course is it's Fun to Play!
The Golf Club of California

Fun layout that's not too long but accurate tee-shots needed. A few tight fairways, but most have some room. Well maintained course, but the greens though, were pretty slow. Large property with space between holes that give a sense of isolated play on most holes. Clubhouse and 19th hole are very tastefully done, a good place to hangout after a round and the service is great.

A fun course to play while sharpening your game. Straight-forward layout with moderate challenge and some room for errant shots. Nice people and a nice place. Will play again and again.
