Scotland Yards Golf Club
Played On 03/13/2019Course Condition
This year the course conditions are less than adequate. The fairways need attention with the mowing. The greens are extremely slow due mostly to the grass not being closely cut. On the day we were there, the tee markers were removed for mowing on the majority of the holes, but we saw only two mowing machines on the entire course for the day. There was a machine following behind us on the holes we played and appeared to be "paintjng" the greens. Many of the greens had bare sandy sections.

- course conditions are dry, but not so much as other courses in the area. Staff has done a great job in maintaining good conditions during this extremely period in Florida.
- course layout is excellent. Very beautiful course.
- one downside, that is not ONE ball washer on the course.
- very few watering stations on the course.

The dry weather has caused havoc to golf courses in this area over the past few months. Conditions are extremely dry and fairways / greens are hard baked. The course has lots of water holes, although many are dried up right now. During ideal weather conditions, this course would offer a great deal more difficulty.

Conditions are extremely dry and course is baked hard. Does not appear that any (or much) water is being used on the course. Fairways are very hard and not much grass in lots of cases. Greens are very firm and no sign of water being used. Lots of very dry spots on the greens.

Even though there was a course marshall in place, he didn't seem to advise slower players to speed up.

Course is in reasonably good shape for the dry conditions of late. However, Something must be done to change the location of the driving range in relation to number 1 tee area and number 18 fairway. Range balls are everywhere coming up #18 fairway, which is the stupidest layout for any course.

Course has improved greatly in the past 2 years. However, pace of play between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. is extremely slow. A course marshall is desperately required. Greens and fairways are in great shape compared to 2 years ago. Cart paths need some work as they are quite rough, and is now affecting some portions of the fairways.
