Classic Golf Club
Played On 04/13/2015Recovering
I only played this course a 2nd time after the tree removal project. Never saw the course before. I like how it looks with less trees. But everything has not been removed or cleared out yet. So there are areas that are in bad shape from trees laying on them and the vehicle damage from the project. I'm sure it will look great after its cleared out and there is no effect from the improvements they did. RMG did same thing at McCormick Woods only they took twice as many trees out. Both lay outs look brighter and give a feeling of openness. The greens were in good shape and are tricky.
The Home Course
Played On 04/09/2015Typical Home Course
What is there to say? This is a great course. Greens were in good shape. Just a few wet areas but it is still spring. Overall facilities rating is simply based on how can a course of this caliber still have a trailer for a pro shop and a snack truck for a restaurant? Are all the green fees going to Chambers? Take down the sign that shows us what a clubhouse will look like and just build one already.
All that aside, great course and will be back again when it is drier and even faster.
Village Greens Golf Course
Played On 10/10/2014Not realistic
I like playing par 3 course to work on short game. Unfortunately this isn't a course to do that. Most greens elevated 3-8 feet from fairway or approach area so if you don't hit the green the ball richochet's off somewhere. That's fine if you are a beginner or just starting but when working on approach shots like low spinners, bump and runs, and high soft landings you only have on choice. Greens are slow too. Fun course if just starting or going out to good around. If you want some par 3 practice I'd recommend Highlands over this.
Eagles Pride Golf Course - Blue/Green
Played On 09/15/2014Red - Good; Blue -Sanded greens
Red was in good shape. Blue had just sanded the greens. Doesn't matter the course is a nice challenge. If you haven't played it before you may miss some opportunities or get yourself in a little trouble. Enjoyable round.
Creekside Golf Course
Played On 07/28/2014Finally
Haven't played here in a few years. My playing partner and I used to refer to this course as Crapside. Not horrible shape just WAY too expensive considering the the other options of much better course for much cheaper. There was an idiot woman running the show. Maybe she either got fired or had a brain transplant. Finally on Golf Now after all the times I avoided this course due to no deals. Lucky for you locals. For others this was an enjoyable course with a few challenges but nothing off the charts.
McCormick Woods Golf Course
Played On 07/25/2014Fast and Furious
Hard fast fairways and greens. Course was in pretty good shape. A little discombobulated to start with some late reservation people and walk ups which of course offends the "members."
This is a challenging tight course. Keep it in play or you will pay. Do you hear what I say? You could go eat some hay or make things out of clay. You just may....sorry I digress.
Tyee Valley Golf Club
Played On 07/18/2014What a DUMP!
Wow. I understood after playing it why the very nice starter/cashier gentleman explained the course was closing this year. Apparently the 3rd runway is requiring Port of Seattle to close it for use as wetland. It might be fair for a wetland and is better use for this "golf course."
It is what it is. Not sure there was any fairway to be found. Lots of clove fields and burned out formerly known as grass areas. Lots of dead areas in greens. Just a bad course with very little put towards maintenance. But since it is closing you can inderstand why.
Safe your time and $15.
Madrona Links Golf Course
Played On 06/02/20142014 US Open practice greens???
You typically come to Madrona to do some decent scoring and push yourself. When they roll the greens like they did and stick some pins in absolute jack a** locations it lets me know to spend my money elsewhere. The course is in fine shape. The greens were stupid. On average I hit 9-12 GIR in a round of golf. This day I hit 4. They simply were not holding. A par 5 and 2 par 4's I was chipping within 20 yards and balls rolled off slopes. I can't believe the older folks that call this their home course can be too pleased with their scores ballooning...unless they have Alzheimer's and they don't even recognize it.
Rolling Hills Golf Course
Played On 05/29/20141st Hole In One
Played before in winter...much drier now of course. Enjoyed the round and got a little more distance without the plugged balls and slow roll impact. Greens were rolling quite well. Got my 1st ace on #9. Didn't even see it drop so it was sort of anticlimactic. Still neat to walk up wondering if it's in and you catch your first glimpse of a ball in the hole. You won't need driver much on this course. And it's is a good course to work on long iron tee shots and subsequent longer/mid distance irons into the greens.
The Cascade at Gold Mountain Golf Course
Played On 10/31/2013Winter Golf
Not sure when greens were aerated but still just a little bumpy. Course still in fine shape given the leaves and pine needles. Played 2 balls as a single on back nine them made the turn amd paired up with another single and he played 2 balls as well. 18 still took less than 4 hrs walking.
North Shore Golf Club
Played On 6/14/2013First 3 are tight. Last 3 are TOUGH.
Decent course. We got 6:48a tee time, think we were the only ones there. Twosome walking and we were done in about 3h 10m. Several challenging holes with 16-18 blowing up my round. Greens were hard and fast. Took a few holes to figure hitting slightly shorter club and allowing release and run on back/middle pins. Thankfully approach areas were hard too and front pins you could bounce them up as well. Course was not affected by recent rains either. $30 walking was a little steeper than I think it's worth given its GolfNow deal. There are better courses on GN for $30. Overall decent course though.
Charbro...bite me. I’m a single digit handicap and give honest reviews. Don’t rip on courses too much and don’t make them sound like Taj Mahal either. But Village Greens is not a good course for short game work when so many holes have elevated greens just to make it a challenge.
great course. could be the the players skill level verse the course. If the course is tuff for some maybe that should inspire more play.
