Great course for the money

I’ve played here before and consistently enjoyed each round. Grass is still coming out of dormancy, so the lies were tight. Course play was slow due to early morning tournament, but reasonable.

Greatly appreciate you coming out to play Schalamar. Golf Course is in wonderful condition and its that time of the year when all the golfers are trying to get in some last rounds of golf before heading back up north. Looking forward to seeing you back out on the course real soon.

This course has potential.

The reviews all stated that the greens were in good shape, but I found some of the greens had patch work repairs and that the aerated holes were still present. One green side bunker looked as if there was a mud bogging event in it. But the biggest problem I had is that I was a single and came up behind a fivesum, which happen to be the owner of the course. The group wouldn't let me play through and they had an entourage of five carts, one was the golf pro who wasn't playing but drove his cart right up to the greens and on the tee boxes to watch. I know your the owner, but play like you would want your patrons to play on your golf course!

The worst golf course in Jacksonville Florida.

Approximately two years ago Hampton Golf temporarily managed this course due to it's condition. It's the worst course that I've played in Jacksonville. Three intermediate greens with massive cups. Greens in terrible shape. Overgrowth around most water holes. The word from the staff is that they are planning to demolish the course at the end of the season and start over. Hopefully a new Greens Keeper is in the equation, because he/she can't manage a golf course!

Course was clean and maintenance was be performed!

I played on a Tuesday and the grounds keepers were busy cutting and trimming. Some standing water throughout the course, the 15th hole was shutdown for maintenance (the entire top of the green was removed). Some minor spots on 5 or more greens needed attention. It may sound like a shabby course, but I would and will play the course again.

Staff tired to pair me up with 3 other GolfNow people even though I was 30 minutes early and no one was on the Tee Box!

The course didn't tell GolfNow that they had just "AI" the greens. Alittle enoying but the greens aren't that spectacular anyways. Fairways were just mowed and large quantities of cut grass mounds left on them. Secondaries were knee high as well.

Thie course has potential!

I asked the Pro Shop prior to tee off if there were any issues on the course, to which the standard reply is, "No, the course is in great shape." When I got to #3, short Par 3, the green obviously had some issues. They had begun repair on a "U" shaped damaged area that took up 1/4 of the green. Also there were many areas closer toward the greens that required attention. Now I do understand that we are coming out of the dormant season, so I would like to try them again once more when the grass starts to get greener. It's worth one more shot!

The course was well maintained.

I liked that once I checked in, the range balls were included in the green fees. The course was clean, all sand traps were turned prior to the first start of the day and play was fairly fast. The Starter/Ranger was not around first thing in the morning, but made his rounds and checked all players on the course. He was informative with information as well as wildlife sightings, like snakes. Sad to hear that Deercreek will no longer be participating in Golfnow.com!
