White Horse Golf Club
Played On 09/09/2022WH
Excellent Course. My only objection is when I am paired up with other golfers staff should assign at 1st tee box. A number of times I am waiting at tee box for others to show up only to find out others left early. I don’t mind playing by myself, but annoying to be waiting 10-15 minutes for group to show. Other than that White Horse is in excellent condition. Tough course.

Brother came up from TX to play golf so I took him here are 2previous practice rounds.. I hadn’t played in 7+ years but loved the challenge WH provided. Fun times had by all…all could have played better but dividing time with teaching 11 yr old grandson how to be a caddie and driving a cart. Not a golf multi-tasker. Terrific track. Tribe doing a marvelous job

Overall course was excellent. Just do not like when having to start off #10 vs #1 hole. But I understand reason.
Mount Si Golf Course
Played On 07/27/2017Pleasantly surprised
Hadn't played Mt Si since a WSGA/PNGA event back in the 70's. At that time I was not overly impressed. I'm now a super sr still carrying a low single digit hip and thoroughly enjoyed my early morning round. Course fairways and collars around greens were firm, but if you were lucky to hit small greens they held. Might have been the light drizzle or cloudy/fog laced morning that might have added in greens holding? Still I liked that I really never needed my driver. Played 3 metal, 4iron or hybrid off most of the tees and had to work ball left & right to have best angles into greens. Fairways were wavey always seemed to be in a depression so be aware of lie. Go play it.
The Bayonet at Bayonet/Black Horse Golf Course
Played On 11/20/2016Return to old stomping grounds
Signed up to play 36 holes. It was awesome returning to the 2 golf courses I grew up playing high school golf on. Bayonet was terrific as usual and a good test of my game. Black Horse has matured into an awesome track. It was only 3 yrs (1967-68) old when I was introduced to that layout. The trees are no longer seedlings. Bunkers galore. And the greens are nerve wrecking undulating, fast terrorizing beasts. But so much fun. It was a pleasure to reminisce. My golf game stood up to the challenge. My young friend whom I invited was amazed at the tracks. A single digit player, his golf game struggled, but I think he experienced maybe for the first time some difficult tracks.
Anytime, I'm in the Monterey area I will always put this 36 hole on my to do play list.

best darn 36 holes in Monterey area. Returned to play on my growing up golf tracks. Awesome! Black Horse has grown up. Love it!
The Golf Club at Hawks Prairie - The Woodlands
Played On 09/13/2016Woodlands Fun!
Seldom do I get to Lacey, but wanted to play Woodlands. Was pleasantly surprised at the course. Especially the greens. They were awesome! With all the development going on around them and the number of trees taken out I wasn't prepared to enjoy my round. Plus they had a couple events going on at Other course. Got paired w/a local who gave me some of his course knowledge which I appreciated. Aside from some minor maintenance issues...rocks in bunkers, dry spots on fairways I had fun.
Classic Golf Club

Decided to check out Classic after mass removal of trees. Pleasantly surprised that in my opinion it was now better. Greens were great
Foxglove/Pinecone at Resort at the Mountain, The
Played On 06/26/2016Road trip
Not a resort golfer, but was in neighborhood and never played this track. Hard to find. Checking was ok, nothing outstanding or enticing me to have a great time. Played Foxglove & Thistle. Little soggy fairways, but might be in anticipation of hot day? Greens were very nice but slow for my liking. Again they were probably anticipating a hot day? Do have say they were smooth.. It's a fun course for my girl friend . But didn't excite me. I'd still come back just to play a relax ing round w/partner.
Meadowmeer Golf & Country Club
Played On 04/21/2016Moved to Island
Took a friend out who wanted to learn. Meadowmeer was a good track for beginners. Now he wants golf clubs, wants to go to driving range. I think he has the gold bug now? For me the course wasn't challenging for my level of play, but greens were nice. Crowned greens makes it tough and shrinks greens.loved that! Fairways recently aerated so It wasn't great, but very playable. All in all it was more than I expected. I will be back to use course as a practice track.
The Cascade at Gold Mountain Golf Course
Played On 12/14/2015Rain Rain let me play golf
Was itching to play after all the rain we've been getting so I took the opportunity to play my local course just to swing my sticks and enjoy the dry day. Cascade is often overlooked because of Olympic getting all the notoriety, but it is a fun and still challenging track. I actually have a harder time scoring on this track vs Olympic. Easy to walk. Fairways drain well. Greens are some of the best on the Peninsula on a consistent basis. And the practice facility is terrific. Never get tired of this track.
Skamania Lodge - The Gorge 9
Played On 10/21/2015Nice views
Ok. I'm a walker when I play golf but consider taking cart. Tough little track. I played the tips and as others have note better hit it straight or kiss your round goodbye. I found out pretty quick. Errant shots just figure your ball is eaten up by the Scamsmia woods. Not very forgiving but a track for a short straight hitter. All in all fun course but be prepared to be frustrated. Greens were nice but not fast. I like um fast but rolled nice even if I couldn't get to the cup. Elevation change to greens also had me off a club or two. My competitive mode will make me return for a rematch
Mint Valley Golf Course
Played On 10/20/2015Long time coming
Been wanting to play this course for yrs but never get out to Longview. Finally decided to play and I was not disappointed. For a short track it was not as easy as I was anticipating. Played tips at about 6400 yds.Fairways were wet so ball was not rolling. Probably playing longer than normal, yet still I had middle to short irons into most greens. Greens overall were good but not fast like I prefer and boy were they huge. Could be 1-3 clubs difference from front to back. Par 3's from tips are hefty...needed a 3 iron. All in all this is a fun track. I plan to be back now that I got a round under my belt.
Thank you Grant for finally making it out to Mint Valley Golf Course. We appreciate you taking the time to give us your feedback and leave such a positive review. We hope that you will continue to make it out this way and please let us know if there is anything else we can do to make your golfing experience better!
Peninsula Golf Club
Played On 10/13/2015Peninsula play
A little gem in Port Angeles. A friend recommended awhile back but never got opportunity to try until recently. Played the tips and I enjoyed the test. Most of course is played on the side of hills. Par 5''s are all pretty much reachable in two w/ good drive and 2nd shot. Good variety of par 4's with some being in the neighborhood of 400+ yds. Par 3's were challenging. Greens were aerated about 1month ago so a tad bit slow for my liking. However they rolled smoothly...will try again when they get green speeds back up. Their greens had some nice slope to them and my guess is this is where the course can challenge players and protect itself from long hitters.
Pro shop was most helpful for my 1st time play and provided me w/a yardage guide.and some course info. If this is your 1st time playing...it can be confusing figuring where to go from hole to hole. I had to look a scorecard or ask where to go in a few instances. Will be back to break 70 next time. Great price on GolfNow.
North Shore Golf Club
Played On 10/08/2015It's been awhile
Had a craving to play a course I haven't played in a long time. Price was right. Weather was overcast but dry. Aerated greens about 2-2.5 weeks ago, some visible holes, but I was amazed how much they were Rollin. Far different from what I remember yrs ago....they used to be slow, shaggy and at times bumpy. Improved. The one thing that was horrible was the pace of play. The 4-some in front of us were extremely slow and had no golf skills what so ever. Turned a 4hr round into a 5+ round and lots of waiting by our group and they 3-4 other groups I saw behind us.. Left a bad taste in my day. If it wasn't for the great deal I would have complained and insisted a refund.
Lots of houses now and the trees have gotten taller and bigger. If you are not hitting it straight expect to be in the woods a lot. Give it a try, but be ready for a long day if NS cannot control pace of play.
Riverside Golf Club
Played On 08/26/2015Wow
Was I surprised! Greens were double cut and rolled to about 12 on the stomp meter. It was awesome! I asked a greenskeeper if the greens are like that all the time? He said close, but extra was done for tournaments. Made my day to have greens like that. Now I'm curious to come back to see greens on a regular day. Will be back
Port Ludlow Golf Resort
Played On 08/19/2015Ludlow
Had heard of irrigation problems at Ludlow. Caught one of the GolfNow specials so I decided to give it a try. Greens were great! Can't say much for fairways and tee boxes. Very burnt or dried out from lack of water and drought conditions. Love the course layout but w/it being so dry I had problems keeping the ball in play...it kept Rollin.
Alderbrook Golf Club
Played On 08/05/2015Long time since I've played
Been awhile since I've played Alderbrook. Was impressed w/course. Will come back to play again. It was fun. Challenging from tips . Course was in great condition and greens were firm and fast. Just like it should' be.
The Olympic at Gold Mountain Golf Course
Played On 08/03/2015Great track on Peninsula
My home course and possibly one of the best tracks on the peninsula and in WA. Never tire of playing at Gold Mt. Greens are pretty much in tournament shape.. Go play it if you haven't
Eagles Pride Golf Course - Blue/Green
Played On 07/07/2015Disappointed in pace of play
Occasionally like to play JBLM, expecting toget done in 4 hrs. A foursome, a twosome and I heard a foursome in front of these groups had us waiting on practically every hole. Not my idea of having fun. Where was the players asst to control pace of play? Plus an enormous amt of water was being placed on course to keep it green...I understand why, but no roll in fairway and greens were soggy and slow.
Thank you for your review and feedback. We are glad to hear you will be back and we look forward to seeing you soon!
