Coyote Golf Club
Played On 08/27/2017Great Experience. Worth a repeat for sure.
This is a really nice course with moderate challenges for the skilled golfer but easily playable for novices from the white or red tees. Beware, par 3s can be long from the blus tees!
No issues booking on line and checking in. The staff of young guys was profewssional and capable. The range balls were inexpensive ($2.00 for 20) and the range Ok. The turf was a little chopped up for a mid-morning tee time. Course conditioning was excellent. Greens were outstanding, very large with contours and some challenging but fair pin placements. Landing areas are generous for the most part with fairly wide fairways. The rough permits manageable recoveries with few lost balls. Water is not usually in play.
The pace of play was excellent. We finished in 4 hours and moved along with with little waiting. Never saw a ranger. We saw Ariana our cart girl 3x. She was engaging and personable. The snack bar did not have a lot of options however although teh staff was very friendly.
Overall I would give this course 4.5 stars. I will definitely put it in my play rotation and look forward to returning.
The Majestic At Lake Walden - 2nd Nine / 3rd Nine
Played On 07/25/2015Majestic lives up to its name!
My wife and I played 10-18 and 19-27 yesterday. The bag staff of young people was incredibly welcoming and enthusiastic. A sign of excellent training and supervision.
The range balls were a bit overpriced at $10 for a large bucket but they were not needed. So many balls were left at the range by golfers rushing to make their tee times that we could have hit 3 large buckets without buying our own!
I won't keep you in suspense. This is a wonderfully entertaining layout with a number of intriguing holes that are a test of imagination and execution. It is well conditioned and maintained. You will not be disappointed there. The greens were in great shape too but some were much slower than others. This led to a couple of unexpected 3 putts in our group. We had an early morning tee time so variable green speeds was a bit surprising and required some quick adjustments to our putting. Note that we did not putt prior to the round to assist us in calibrating greens speeds. Cart girls circulated promptly and were all smiles and banter. The carts appeared to be well stocked.
Carts have GPS with yardage readouts but not hole layouts. That would have been helpful because local knowledge makes a difference to scoring. You do not need a driver on most of those short and moderate length par 4s! Put it back in your bag and play conservatively to avoid trouble and score best. Pro tips for playing strategies on each hole would have been immensely helpful and much appreciated
This is a women golfer friendly course. The Red tees provide a very good opportunity for the women to be as long or longer off the tee as the longer male hitters from the Blue or White tees. My wife is a long hitter and she commented how much she enjoyed hitting from the Reds and looking back at us long hitters off the Blue tees!
A couple more constructive comments:
1. Needed more rangers on the course. 10-18 went quickly (2 hours) but 19-27 took almost 3 hours due the slow 4some in front of us looking for balls.
2. Pro tips as referenced above.
3. More visible signage directing golfers across the road the 3rd nine.
That's it! A thoroughly enjoyable playing experience and well worth the greens fees. We shall return. Highly recommended.
