Quail Village Golf Club
Played On 12/04/2020Challenging smaller course
Very friendly staff. Very much target golf. Water hazards on 14 of 18 holes.
Dyker Beach Golf Course
Played On 08/09/2019Two good words about Dyker: Near Manhattan!
The course is not in great shape (the fairways are messed up and greens are somewhat green). But it is close to the Manhattan and you are out on a golf course. We got there around 4 pm and we able to get in 18 only because it started raining for about 20 minutes and it cleared out the golf course. Otherwise nine is an accomplishment!
There are all types of golfers on the course and you never know if anyone will call "FORE" after an errant shot. I belong to private course and I enjoy playing there, but I have no problem playing a Dyker. Its always fun even when you are playing behind characters, which you most likely will be. I guess that's what gives it that special charm.
Quail Village Golf Club
Played On 12/07/2019Very tough course considering the yardage
I love this course. You must use strategy on almost every hole. If I lived in Naples full time I would become a member. Well worth it.
Dyker Beach Golf Course
Played On 07/03/2019Late start
Groups ahead of us did not know how to play golf cart golf. As a result only played 14 holes. Not bad for public golf Nice views pretty course.
Kissena Park Golf Course
Played On 02/20/2017Love this little course
Hey its winter and you cannot expect things to be in great shape. The greens have taken a pounding but it plays. Overall this short course is a challenge and fun. I have been fairly lucky and the pace of play has been good. Steve who runs the place is a great guy and made us feel right at home. I really enjoy playing here
Douglaston Golf Club
Played On 09/14/2014Play there late in the day
I try to get in 9 holes and usually can get more. I play after the price drop which is 4 pm and becomes 3 pm on September 15th. Usually if I get there a couple hours before dusk I can get my 9 holes in. The course is in decent shape except for a couple holes where the Canadian Geese make a mess. Beautiful views of the City. This was once North Hills Country Club.
This place can get crowded and is more typical of public golf in the New York Metro area. I hear that golf is in trouble because people are not playing. You never would know that around here.
