Unfortunately we decided to play on the day before the members' tournament. The pace of play was incredibly slow as everyone In front of us were rehearsing shots, discussing shots and double checking their range finders before they struck the ball. Agonozing! BUT, the day was beautiful, the course in great shape and the people we were paired with were nice company.

With high winds and low temperatures the conditions did not favor a round of golf. The first two holes are misleading; long, straight and up hill. Then it gets interesting. Our group often talks about how interesting a course is. Skyline is VERY INTERESTING and challenging for the likes of me, BUT I'm going back as it's a great course.

On the day we played the grounds crew were finishing sanding the greens. On the back nine it was not uncommon to have a sand rooster tail on long putts.
That was the only bad part of our experience. After a couple days of rain I think this problem has been greatly reduced. We will play this course many times in the future.

First I have to mention the staff. They were wonderful.

Next, the course...it was wonderful.

Now comes that meandering stream. As one who measures the quality of a round in terms of the number of balls lost, I was thrilled after losing only one ball to that perpetual stream. What made me feel even better about my round was that, by the time I stopped counting, there were at least 60 other golfers who fared equal or worse than me.

I have played golf in eight different states and rate this a "must play" course for any golfer who wishes to play a memorable course.

Met by friendly staff to a well maintained course we went out and played all 18 holes in a swift three hours and fifteen minutes.
The quality of the greens, traps, fairways, first and second cuts are consistent from start to finish. It is a relatively flat course that tests you left, right, short and long.
It was a pleasure to play this course. Unfortunately, I had to leave immediately after the round so I didn't get to experience the 19th Hole.

I have played River Bend several times and have had pleasant to wonderful experiences every time. I have been paired up with some really good people...most golfers are good people. The challenges of this course come mostly from the fact that the holes vary widely and challenge every aspect of your game. It is one fun course. Bring your best putting game.

I booked as a single and was used to fill out a foursome. What a good bunch of guys. The course is well maintained and very fair. I will play it again.

This is an aesthetically pleasing course and, unfortunately, I had plenty of time to take in the views. We waited on every tee on the front nine with longer waits on the back nine. I guess the rate of play in Florida is much slower than I have experienced elsewhere and there seems to be a paucity of rangers to move play along. I will play this course again but can't guarantee I'll play al 18 if history repeats itself.

After playing the North Course, the South doesn't have the same beauty. It plays shorter than I expected and had few really difficult holes. It is a very playable course where play moves along quickly. The threesome I joined up with were great people which made the experience even more pleasurable. I will play this course again.

I spent so much time in the water I thought I was fishing. This is a short, tight course not designed for the hard slice or duck hook. Although it is a very fair course layout, it is unforgiving of those who don't always hit the ball cleanly. It was challenging, yet fun. Good thing I brought alot of balls because I needed them. I will play this course again but will be ready for it next time.

Being from the Northeast I just haven't become accustomed to the quality of golf course that I find in this area. Except when I plunked a ball in the abundant water hazards I never had a bad lie. The traps are very playable and very well maintained. I will gladly play this excellent course again.

I loved this course. There was absolutely nothing negative about my experience. I will play it again.

It is easy to praise this course for its physical presence. The problem we encountered was with the pace of play. The front nine was played in a little over two hours with waits on nearly every hole. The back nine was a marathon with waits for as many as three groups in front to get off, A call to the starter was ineffective and the pace improved only when one of the slowed groups in front of us left the course. It took more than 3 hours to get around the back nine. I will try the course again but if the same situation arises I probably will have to miss this very beautiful course.

The wind was up which detracted from play. I will gladly play the course again and under more favorable conditions will give a fair review.
