Heritage Landing Golf & Country Club
Played On 12/31/2020Scott
Course was a descent layout. But was dried out. Expected to be more lush like Naples courses. Greens were extra slick for this time of year. Everything rolled off the green from 75 yards in. Good shots were penalized. Not sure what they were trying to accomplish.
West at Jacaranda Golf Club
Played On 01/03/2017Very nice layout
Most holes are challenging. Greens are true. Water and sand in play on most every hole. First time playing West and East courses. Very nice surprise and I'll definitely come back.
Crandon Golf at Key Biscayne
Played On 01/02/2017Awesome course!
This place was so cool. Felt like I was in the Bahamas while playing a great course. Great layout, great par threes. Can't wait to come back. Lots of wild life. Saw crocodile on #4. Biggest iguanas ever. Sweet view of Miami from 17-18. Favorite of the five courses I played while in area. Best value for the money too. Even though pricey. Totally worth it.
East at Jacaranda Golf Club
Played On 01/01/2017Nice surprise
Most holes are challenging. Greens are elevated and putt true. Water and sand in play on most every hole. First time playing West and East courses. Very nice surprise and I'll definitely come back.
Trump National Doral Miami - Blue Monster Course
Played On 12/31/2016Had to play it once
Blue Monster is a good test of golf. Trump has done a great job with the upkeep of the courses. Obviously very pricey. Required to take a fore caddy that tried to read every putt. Usually wrong but I worked through it. Had to play the course because I watched the "Doral" even year with my Dad since 1970 when he played it. He just passed away a month ago so I wish I could have talked to him about it. So said that they lost the tournament.
Prairie Landing

Really a nice layout. Robert Trent Jones course. If this course was out in the middle of a forest, it would be top five in the state.. Putting next to the airport brings it down a notch. But , actually enjoyed watching the private jets fly overhead between shots. Some of the par 4's are a little short. Playing from the back tees, the Heather/ Prairie grass was strategically put where my errant drives landed. Some of my good drives ended up in some fairway sand traps. My risks weren't rewarded. Good greens, some bigger breaks than expected. Stay below the hole if can. Pleasantly surprised by this course. Just needed to play better.
Klein Creek Golf Club
Played On 09/23/2015Poor pace of play
The course actually has a good layout. With a descent level of difficultly. I don't mind that the the greens were just aerated. But the sand trips were muddy and or hard as concrete. Pace of play was maddening and the marshall didn't seem to care. There was a foursome that was holding up the group in front of me and the groups behind me. Five hour rounds or more is unacceptable on any course. Klein Creek needs to understand that there are alot of other options for playing golf at in Chicagoland.
Yarrow Golf Course
Played On 09/16/2015Yarrow thumbs up!
Very surprised by how nice this course was. Bummed when I found out that this is the last year. Sold to a Rehabilitation Center. I'm so glad that I played it. Hurry while you can play this year. First hole should be the 18th finishing hole. Most of the wholes were very different from each other. Great collection. Course was challenging, beautiful and fair. Please fix your divots. There was a bunch not fixed on a couple of the greens.
Thank you for playing Yarrow! We are glad that you got to see and play the course before we closed. Come back and play one more time!
The Medalist Golf Club
Played On 05/15/2015Great surprise!
I Played the front nine two weeks ago traveling on way back from work in Chicago. Couldn't wait to come back to play it again. There are about 6 easier holes, 6 medium and 6 hard holes playing from the back. So, the course is fun as well as a great challenge for me. Your tee shots must be good to set up challenging shots to the greens. Pick your tee boxes wisely depending on your handicap. The par threes can be pretty difficult. If you get pars then you've really done something. I've played about 40 of the top 50 courses in Michigan and the Medalist is probably in the top 15 I've played. Can't wait to come back. Top three values I've played. SWilson
Old Corkscrew Golf Club
Played On 12/29/2014really good course
Really good layout. Can play long in wind. So, pick your tee boxes wisely. Leave early enough to drive there. Give yourself an extra 20 minutes. It's a ways out there and always heavy traffic. Definitely worth the money. Might be the most course for the money that travelers can play.
Thank you for the great review. Remember for the best rates book online!
Good course
When you're coming from the north, Florida golf is a slap in the face because of the difference in the grasses that you play on. If you've played enough down here you can start to compare the layouts and conditions. Conditions were good. Green conditions were average and a little fluffy. First green wasn't mowed at mid day. Must have missed it. It's a tough but enjoyable course, and one of the better non-private courses you can play. Must have your best game going off the tee. Guys in front of me held up the whole course all day. Get the the retirees off the bag drop and put one as as ranger to speed up play. Course worth $75, not $150. Even during peak season.
Sarasota National Golf Club
Played On 12/27/2014Great greens
Average Florida course that travelers can play. Theses were the best greens by far of any Florida course I've played in 10 years. Average layout out but good value for the money.
Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience with us. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the course and we hope to see you again soon!
