The Golf Club at Middle Bay
Played On 08/26/2017Depends what you're looking for
So the biggest problem with this golf course is the lack of drainage. In other words, if you play this course within 2 weeks of any type of steady rain, there will be some serious flooding. The greens are really well-kept and challenging - I'd say they are the best feature of the course. The winds are probably the most challenging part of the course. Being right on the water, it will affect numerous shots. The rounds tend to be slow and the staff could be friendlier in my experience. I generally go to this course once a year just to have the experience of playing a course right on the water for a reasonable price. If you are willing to pay big bucks to play a course on the ocean, you're better off going to Trump Ferry Point.
Royce Brook Golf Club - West Golf Course
Played On 08/05/2017Dissappointing
I played here twice in a span of 2 weeks. I had a tournament there so I played it the week before to scout it out. The layout is fine, but the conditions of the course are embarrassing. 90% of the bunkers were unplayable (zero drainage), the greens were completely chewed up and looked like no one even attempts to repair it, and the pace of play was so bad that my buddy literally quit on the 15th hole because we had already hit the 5 hour mark... I would hope the private West course is in better condition because I'm pretty sure it's can't be kept worse than the East Course.
I don't enjoy giving bad reviews but this course deserved it.
trump ferry point is not on "the ocean" unless they moved the atlantic.
