Thinking person's course
Darkhorse is a beautifully designed course in a very scenic location. It seems every hole presented different challenges that a good golfer would love. Multiple bunkers, trees, and streams in the middle of fairways, geese, deer, and other critters required thoughtful club selection and targeted landing spots.

Beautiful course
Peaceful, walkable course in the oak studded foothills. Fairways are wide open where a few holes require water carry, and houses do not crowd the fairways. Greens are generous. Pace of play will be slower during months with shot gun starts and full tee sheets. Lots of wildlife and views of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
