Belle Terre Country Club
Played On 07/31/2023Took a peek
On my way back to NOLA after playing in BR, I decided to stop by to check out greens. #2 & #11. They looked fairly good. They were sanded with grass a little longer than what would be normal. Ball rolled nicely. Like many places, it needs RAIN. I'd say an inch a day for 7 days would be great. I'll be back, but I'm gonna wait until September...when it's cooler... I hope.
LSU Golf Course
Played On 04/25/2023Why does this exist?
This is the absolute worse course in Louisiana. Why anyone goes there is beyond my understanding. I don't care how inexpensive & convienent it is. There should be an mandatory outing for LSU administrators and members of the golf teams.
Bayou Oaks City Park South Course
Played On 04/17/2023Overpriced
I used to play here often, maybe 3 times a month. But now, no more. The $25 rounds are gone. $70-$80 is too much for me. Better options exists. It's a shame because the was usually in good shape. It's a very playable course where I have had my best rounds. However, ...

Played On 09/25/2023Anxious to return
Had a great, enjoyable time. Conditions were terrific in spite on lack of rain this summer. Greens were quick & challenging. Rolled true. Kudos to the Super.
Oak Harbor Golf Club
Played On 10/18/2022Review the course, not your experience
The only important items in reviewing a course is your opinion of the layout [design] & course conditions & proper function of carts. NOT important are pace of play, dispute with other golfers, lack of food/beverages except water on the course, and if you think you paid too much. Most important is turf conditions...of greens, fairways, rough, & tees.
Oak Harbor Golf Club
Played On 11/02/2021Potential galore
Very good layout/design makes this a challenging course. What also makes it challenging is the poor conditioning, i.e bare spots, sink holes, unkempt sand bunkers, & unlevel tee boxes. Also, the cart paths are a disaster, like driving thru the streets of NOLA, especially, Lakeview. The clubhouse could also use a thorough scrubbing & paint job. In spite of this, I really enjoy it even though it gives me fits. The greens are always great except when they get sanded. Bottom line, it needs an injection of funds, that, apparently current ownership lacks, to make improvements. Maybe this will happen, if the proposal for the nearby casino gets approved. It is my understanding that the casino might make a pitch to make Oak Harbor part of their plan. That would be great for the course [& the golfers] and the surrounding property owners, who would a bump in property values with the course becoming first class. My opinion. We will see.
The Grand Bear Golf Course
Played On 06/15/2021Fantastic day!
3rd time playing GB & it never disappoints. Wonderful layout & great conditioning. Wonderfully secluded with no outside distraction. Some wildlife. Top notch clubhouse makes you not want to leave. Only negative is the distance to drive from I-10, but no big deal. Well worth it. Haven't been to Fallen Oak or The Preserve, but, to me, GB is #1 on the coast, and maybe beyond.
Wow, thank you for the high praise! We're proud to be considered one of Mississippi Gulf Coast's best golf experiences, and we're glad to know you appreciated the Jack Nicklaus signature design, course conditions, and first class service. We look forward to your fourth visit to Grand Bear.
LaTour Golf Club
Played On 05/14/2021Great time along the bayou
Fairways & greens were in excellent shape. Greens rolled true. Sand traps need to be reworked after the recent heavy rains. Challenging course but fair. Great practice facility with comp balls.

I HAVEN'T PLAYED YET!
Riverlands Golf & Country Club
Played On 06/06/2020Disappointed
First time playing the course. My expectations were not high and was not disappointed. I knew the course was a basic back and forth layout. Except for one hole, that was true. Got a $10 Saturday deal and. now I know why. Greens were just aireated [big holes] and sanded. Ball bounced all over the place. Fairways had not been cut in a while. Mixture of various crazy grasses. Nope, I won't return.
English Turn Golf & Country Club
Played On 08/12/2019Great day except for my golf.
Had a wonderful day. Course was in good shape. Greens putted true. Good typical Nickalas layout.
Had a great $30 deal.
The Bridges Golf Club at Hollywood Casino
Played On 10/19/2015Great day
Everything was very good: fairways and greens. Just wished I would have played better.
Gulf Shores Golf Club
Played On 09/06/2015Great course, great value
Played during Labor Day weekend. Course was in great shape .Plays longer than card indicates. Fairways are wide, but make sure you land there. Greens were thick and soft, rather quick. Sand is TOUGH! It is like fluffy beach sand, understandably since the beach is right there. It will be on my list to play every visit to Gulf Shores.
Bayou Oaks City Park North Course
Played On 06/02/2015What a joke
Stay away. If you play here you are wasting your money, even if it is only a quarter. Temp greens for 4 weeks.
Joseph M. Bartholomew Golf Course
Played On 01/29/2015Great muni course
Best public course in metro New Orleans. Good layout. Good conditions. Fantastic new clubhouse although no food yet.
Timberlane Golf & Recreation
Played On 12/03/2014Great shape but...
Overall, great shape and challenging, especially greens. Except...the fairways. Although hard, dry and thin grass which is understandable and acceptable but really too bumpy. They need to be leveled by top dressing or totally scraping and aerating. Riding cart on course is like riding a bronco. Then course would be totally fantastic. BTW, couldn't beat the $13 round on a beautiful day.
Stonebridge Golf Club of New Orleans - Championship Course
Played On 08/19/2014Improvements needed
This could be a very nice course, but the conditions need to change. Greens, while evenly cut, were a little long and contained plenty of weeds (crows feet). Sand traps needs to be totally redone, ridiculous amount of grass/weeds. Even at $10/round (what a deal!), it wasn't worth it, sorry to say. No rec, until improvements made.
Grand Ridge Golf Club
Played On 08/14/2014Could be a gem.
First, let me say, that this could be the most interesting layout in the N.O. area. It reminds me of Harbor Town without the sand and the lighthouse. Narrow fairways, tall trees, and small greens. However, basically, poor conditions. Bumpy fairways with a mix of grasses. Greens were nice but long. Traps are terrible. Ponds need to be cleaned. With some effort and investment, this could be a fantastic course.
Belle Terre Country Club
Played On 07/27/2014Great impovement.
It has been about 20 years since I last played here during which time I had heard it went downhill. At $16, I had to give it a try. The condition of the core of the course (tees, fairways, and greens) were terrific. The sand traps are in the process of being worked on, better drainage and new sand. This Pete Dye course is on the way back. High recommendations. I know I will be back even at a higher price.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We appreciate your feedback and apologize for any inconvenience caused by the longer grass. We will take your suggestion for more rainfall into consideration and we hope to see you back in September.
