Azalea City Golf Course
Played On 12/03/2017Ho hum
Course was in good shape and the greens ran true. The thing of it is, it’s featureless. There’s no wow factor, no elevation changes, no water, the rough was unspectacular. It’s just a typical municipal course, good to practice on.

This is my new favorite local course. It was closed for 3 years so there are some minor problems but, fairways are nice the greens are fast and they roll true.
Swan Point Yacht & Country Club
Played On 07/25/2015Good course
Good course and a great layout. Lots of water and sand. I was hoping for a course that was closer to the shoreline of the Potomac because that's what a fellow golfer told me so, I was a little disappointed in that. Plenty of wildlife though. The greens were fast and firm but, the fairways were recently aerated and dry. They need to water the fairways more to get them in better shape. Overall nice course and I look forward to playing there again.

Played On 07/17/2015Very nice surprise
We had a 3:00 tee time for after work. After getting there a few minutes late because of some VERY heavy traffic, the people at the pro shop seemed a little annoyed. So we were a little doubtful before we started and felt a little negative and were just hoping to get through the round. But man this course was just a pleasant and beautiful surprise. Fairways were nice traps in good shape and the rough was a challenge but not obnoxious. On the back 9 I found I lost my lob wedge and I reported it at the pro shop. At this point the people were super friendly and helpful even calling later in the evening with a possible club for me (wrong one though). Negatives were no beverage carts and pace of play was slow they need a ranger. But this course was beautiful!
Native Oaks Golf Club
Played On 08/31/20142 hours for a round of golf!!!!!
Hit the jack pot today! Played WV today and everything aligned perfectly. The great staff let me out a half hour ahead of my tee time, gave me a cart for myself and did not charge for my wife ( who does not play) to ride along. 2 foursomes and a couple let me play through and the course was in pretty good shape considering the drought. I finished my round in two hours and could not have had a better experience.
Chula Vista Golf Course
Played On 05/24/2014Good Municipal course
This course was a good experience for me. In the middle of an historic drought the fairways were as good as can be expected. The greens were in great shape and the bunkers ( of which I found 5 ) had plenty of sand. You can see that they are working on improving the course. The odd thing was there were no coolers of water on the course but they had an ambassador driving around with one. The staff was friendly but they need more signage, I almost got lost looking for the 14th tee. Overall it was a nice typical Muni Course
Carmel Highland Golf Resort
Played On 11/29/2013This course has challenging lies
Played here yesterday and enjoyed the course. Coming from the Pococnos it was nice to play a course where you had to think about grades and lies and ball placement. Too many flat courses here in SoCal. The staff were friendly and the value was great. Yes the fairways were burnt from summer heat but it certainly didn't ruin the experience and the greens were in nice shape.
Mt. Woodson Golf Club
Played On 9/21/2013A thinking man's course
I played this course for the first time and was lucky enough to be paired up with a local pro. He told me the subtleties of each hole which helped a lot. There are many blind shots and falling away fairways. The condition of the course well maintained especially when you consider drought conditions in southern California. The course is short but the difficulty lies in your ability to manage the course, and play accurately.
