MountainView Country Club
Played On 02/14/2018Course needed a lot of attention
We have played Mountainview many times - this time the greens were in poor condition and some of the fairways were in need of attention. Absolutely not a good value for our money. This is too bad as we always looked forward to playing this course.
Haven at Haven Public Golf Club

We've played Haven many times, but this time the pace was excellent - 4 hours or less. Course was in excellent condition. Lot of ladies playing - always a good sign! :-)
Sewailo Golf Club

Course was very nice; staff extremely friendly; course is over-priced. Beautiful fairways. Provided plenty of water to drink - wouldn't want to play the course in the summer.

We commend the ranger for his excellent work. A threesome started in front of us (all men); they were extremely slow (beginners). The ranger let us go ahead of them after 3 holes. The threesome was very cordial about it. I'm writing this review as my foursome included 2 women!
Ventana Canyon - Canyon Course
Played On 7/1/2013Everything about Ventana is excellent.
We love playing Ventana, esp. in the summer at the reduced rate. Staff is very friendly and the course - what can I say - was in excellent condition - no brown spots anywhere! Even saw a bobcat on one of the fairways.
Arizona National Golf Club
Played On 3/27/2013Fairways were brown with little grass. Fairways were actually sprayed to give appearance of grass.
This used to be a pristine course, but sadly we'll never play it again until it is back to its original condition.
Quarry Pines Golf Club

My husband and I played with another couple. The ranger watched us on every hole. When asked why, he said we were 35 minutes behind. Actually, we waited on the group in the front of us on EVERY hole. He did not watch that group (which were all men) once! We probably will never go back.
Starter treated our group very poorly. The group comprised of two young woman (one a varsity girls golfer and the other a woman assistant golf professional) and our dad. The Starter treated us like we never have been on a golf course with his condescending attitude when explaining the rules. Being very adamant about pace of play which with all these other reviews doesn't sound like they are too concerned with the pace of place issue. I can't comment on the course conditions because we asked for our money back after being treated in a poor manner. With that said the inside staff, golf professionals, were very apologetic that we were treated an inappropriately.

Course is in excellent condition; very challenging for a retirement community course. Pro Shop personnel not friendly.

The Club at Starr Pass - Rattler/Coyote
Played On 11/6/2012When we arrived at the course we were told it was cartpath only. Never noted on the Golfnow confirmation.
Course was beautiful and challenging but the cartpath only was a major drawback.
