Country Club Feel

This was the sixth course I had played in a row in Vegas. The clubhouse and locker room was all country club. Very clean and professional. Pro shop staff gave excellent customer service. The course was in typical off season shape. Fairways were patchy, greens were a little bit shaggy and they were hard. This course was in average shape compared to others I had played. Pace of play was great for a Saturday. The course was very tight from the black tees and there are plenty of traps to catch your drive. There are also a lot of elevated greens so make sure you check your pin positions so that you end up on the correct tear. Plenty of fall offs around greens and water demand a precise shot. The neighborhood surrounding the gated community for this course is in terrible shape. It's a different world once you step inside the gates. I would play again.

Vegas Muni

Short, tight, great condition, easily walkable. I played with 3 women who were very good. We didn't have to wait much. The greens held and the fairways were in great condition for the time of year. All in all one of the better condition courses I played out of 6 courses that week. Huge driving range, great putting green. You have to hit it in the fairway on this course. Trees line the sides of every hole. Plus its right across the street from siegfried and roy's old house!

California Desert Course

Long drive from Vegas. Course was in very poor condition compared to the other 6 I played that week. We had a late start because of a frost delay but the staff was friendly and helpful. Huge chipping and driving range and super small putting green for 2 courses. Fairways were in terrible shape, greens were so hard you couldn't even leave a pitch mark. It was not worth the drive for me, or the $85 for the green fee. Good elevation changes throughout the course. The course was difficult from the tips, and the layout was great, the only issue was the bad condition.

Bears Best!

It's a pretty cool concept. I'm not sure if the Bear himself would be too proud of the condition of the course at its present state. Being March I didn't expect lush anything and I wasn't disappointed. I played from the way backs and I have to say, I still don't think these re-production holes are to scale. They just seemed too short. The course is beautiful and with every hole lined with 5+ million dollar homes, the views were awesome. I have no idea how they can charge $200+ to play it but thank goodness for last minute golfnow because I played it for $50. Free range balls! Great staff, great putting green.

Worth the drive

One of the better courses played out of 6. Open fairways and fair greens. Long drive from Vegas but this is a scoring course with a great layout. We had a 2 hour rain delay but were able to finish no problem. Fairways were better than other courses as well as the greens held well. Great staff, great clubhouse and great practice facility.

A must play

This was the first of 6 courses I played in a week and I started with the best. The wolf course is long, difficult, in amazing condition for the season. It is a long drive north but you can tell that on this reservation they care about golf. Having 3 courses and this one being in such amazing shape for the time of year, I was blown away. Especially how every other course I played (5) the rest of the week was a complete disappointment compared to it. Tee boxes, fairways and greens all in stellar condition. Staff was on point. Next time I am in Vegas I will play all 3 courses. This course has an island green par 3 that from the backs plays almost 200 yards. Take that TPC Sawgrass! Play this course, but be real, play the correct tee box. This is more like a PGA style course than any that I've played in Vegas other than TPC Canyons.

Typical Resort Course

Kauai's Poipu Bay Resort course is right next to the airport which is pretty cool if you like to see huge jets landing right next to your fairway, which also means it is on the ocean so there is a TON of wind. It is also right next to the Grand Hyatt luxury resort. My golf now tee time was a hot deal and the pro shop guy let me know by how rude he was to my wife and I. I probably saved around $70 bucks. The pro shop guy Kirk who checked me in was very dismissive and verified I wasn't staying at the hotel and he let me know that I couldn't touch the driving range until 30 minutes before my tee time because we were so early (a little over 1 hour early). By the way, they only charge you for a rider if you book through golf now apparently, if you book through the hotel or pay normal rate the rider is free (it is published that they do not charge for a rider) so that was not a fun $25.00 add on. We had to burn some time so we ate at the grille next to the pro shop. After the $20.00 burger that took literally 45 minutes to get in a to go box we ran to the cart, then to the driving range and it was an OK experience from there on. The course has a beautiful layout, I recommend playing it from the tips, you get to see the entire course and it is very difficult with the wind. The grass was not in as good of shape as the other courses on the island, some sand on the greens and quite a few dead spots, not pristine like the Prince course at all. Also, the bunkers are all waste style bunkers with no sand in them, very difficult to play out of, especially if you are in a deep one right next to the green. The friendliness from the bag guys was fine, and you get a free bag tag with your name on it. Other than the pro shop guy who was clearly a typical entitled rude pro shop manager working at a former tour venue, the course was a typical Kauai course where even with the hot deal I think it was a little overpriced. The only thing memorable will be the poor treatment. I expect more for $120.00 for 18. I highly doubt I will go back next time I am in Kauai. Every once in a while I book a hot deal at a course and get treated like this by a pro shop. Be prepared for it, especially if you go to one of these courses. They obviously don't like it.

Top 100 course that is public with a tour experience

I pulled into the parking lot and was welcomed immediately by a host with my cart. He was very friendly and drove me to the check in stand. the Pro Shop staff was very friendly and they checked me in very quickly and sent me back out to my cart where another host was there to show me to the driving range and then to the first hole. As many free range balls as I needed. They let me tee off over 30 minutes early, and at the first tee I was greeted with a slice of pineapple. The course conditions were perfect the fairways were amazing the greens were like carpet and the tee boxes were what you would expect from a PGA tour caliber course. The drink cart came by every few holes and was moderately affordable and well stocked. There were amazing views to be had not only from the few ocean views but also from the amazing elevation changes on the many very difficult holes. At the end of 18 holes I was greeted with a Princeville bag tag with my name on it as well as a score high above my index. Highly recommend this amazing experience.

January Golf in Colorado!

Can I complain? NO! The driving range has the best quality mats you can buy. The course was clear of snow and the greens were not frozen! Pace of play was quick, and the front desk guy was friendly! Very easy and for the price it was by far the best deal north of Denver for this time of year.
