It's a ways back in the boonies but we feel it's worth the trip. Greens and fairways were nice and green all the way to the rough. Greens putted well and were fairly fast. It was hot and dry, but a little rain would make the greens more receptive. Great course, nice folks, good food. We'll be back!

My buddy from Chicago and I played and really enjoyed the course, courtesy and scenery. Lots of nice old homes and even a college along the course but not close enough to be a problem. The course was in great shape, both fairways, bunkers and greens. Will definitely play this again.

Nice track. Fairways and greens were GREEN! Layout is nice and wide for most holes. Lots of water in play. We had an enjoyable round and will be back.

Played as a twosome and got paired up with two really nice guys of similar age and talent. We all had a great round. LOTS of folks playing and bookings were right on top of one another but we moved right along. Just Under 4 hrs. Credit their Course Ambassadors to keeping everyone moving. Thanks guys, I'm sure you get some soreheads to deal with but you just kept smiling! Fairways are getting chewed up due to heavy seasonal play, lots of tight lies. Greens are spotty but play pretty fast and well. Could be better. All told, a really good round. We'll be back (after Snowbird season).

We had not played this course in quite a while because of previous course conditions. What a difference the new management made! This was one of the best courses my foursome has played in some time. Thanks to all the folks at Hernando Oaks for a great golf outing! We'll be back.

My regular Golf Buddy and I played this course for the first time in 3 or 4 years. It was just a so-so municipal course but has improved since then. We quit playing mainly because the prices kept on going up especially during snow-bird season. It's still pretty expensive for what it is. However, we caught a special on GolfNow and gave it a try and were pleasantly surprised. In a couple of weeks when that overseed all comes in, it will be great. It was a little soft from the rain and irrigation but very playable. Give it a try!

The tees, fairways and greens are much greener this year. Greens were pretty fast and rolled good. Tees were definitely improved. The pace of play was very good. They are really working on improving this course. Looks like all the rain in the last couple of months has really helped. This is a fun course. I liked the front 9 best. We shall return!

You can tell that the course managers are trying to bring this course up to snuff. The layout is great. We really enjoyed it even though there is NO water on the course. They are trying to get the overseed to come in but it isn't cooperating. Fairways are sparse and greens are a little thin in spots. We are definitely going to come back in a few weeks and play this one again.

The fairways are narrow throughout most of the course. It seems to be a low-lying area as the fairways were pretty muddy even though we have not had any rain for a week. They are trying to get the overseed to come in, so I guess they are watering heavily, too. Grass was sparse and mowed very close in the fairways for this time of year making for a lot of tight, muddy lies. The greens were in very good shape and fast.

We played after a little rain and the course had not drained. It seems to hold water more than most, so you get a lot of soggy lies. We played lift, clean and place and had an enjoyable time. Good course for the money.

In spite of the last month of incessant rain, the course was in good shape and mowed pretty well. I expected the rough to be out of control but it was in good shape. The greens were in good shape and fairly fast. We had a fun round.

We played on July 21, and the temp must have been in the 90's with no breeze. There is ice and water bottles on every cart which is a nice touch. No water cans on the course and no ball cleaners. Better be sure you have plenty of water. The Lakes course has less shade than the Forest plays a little tougher and hotter to my mind. Grass was good in fairways and greens were in nice shape. Overall, we enjoyed the round.

I have played this course many times and find that it is probably in the best shape I've seen in years. It's a favorite of mine. Try it, I think you will like it!

We were very pleased with the course condition. With a little rain that we are getting now, the fairways will be perfect. I am sure they have had a lot of play this winter. We definitely want to play the Forest course again.

The course is in good shape, greens are nice and true and a bit fast. We had a great time and would go there again for sure.

We had not played the course in a couple of years. Some improvement has been made on the greens. It was overbooked, so you had to wait on every tee. It is a fairly close in course to play for vacationers staying at the beaches.

Firstly, let me say that I play this course frequently and I like the course. The problem we encountered was overbooking in the extreme. We paid for 18 holes but were only to play 9 holes in 3 and 1/2 hours. That is a 7 hour round. Incredible. They did offer free range balls while we waited to tee off in a que of about 10 foursomes. The staff was nice and realized that they had a problem. Hopefully, they will stop this overbooking.

We enjoyed the round due to the good course conditions and the layout of the course. The greens were in good shape as were the fairways. We did have some slow play as a result of a foursome who were all playing several shots each time. We called the clubhouse and a ranger was sent out to very courteously move the foursome along and to apologize to our group for the delays. Nice touch!

This course is a little off the beaten path but worth the trip. The course was in great shape, greens were pretty fast. I really enjoyed putting on these greens, they rolled fast and true. The layout of the course was good for my game. The clubhouse staff seemed nice as did the course rangers but I think the locals are a little jealous of having to share their course with outsiders. Some of them did not seem too outgoing. Other than that, we had a great and enjoyable game. I think you will, too.

Have played this course since it opened. It is in good shape now and well worth the trip to play it. However, watch out for the Shotgun Starts which you may get booked into without knowing it. I would recommend calling the course ahead of time to see if you are buying a tee time which is included in the shotgun start. Luckily, there were not a lot of golfers in the shotgun start yesterday and it worked out pretty good. We made good time and had fun.
