Salem Glen Country Club
Played On 06/30/2018Non member playing a nice layout.
The practice putting green was in good condition and the ball rolled great, but the greens are not in as good of condition. There is this tool that is sold at golf shops called a divot repair tool. They should invest in these and teach players how to use them. Other than that the ball rolled pretty true on the greens. We had an 11:10 tee time. There was no starter. Two “members” groups of three I believe got in front of us and they were playing some sort of little tournament. The pro even carted one to the first tee who missed his ride. At no time did anyone ask about tee times. This delayed our start time about 20 minutes. I guess we got the non-member treatment. Yeah, it was hot and a little frustrating , but we did get a $20/player round from GN, so it’s kind of hard to complain. The cart girl did make plenty of rounds if you needed refreshments which was nice. All of the water coolers had ice cold water as well.

This is one of my favorite courses. I like the elevation changes and variety of holes. Just wish people would repair their divots. It is usually in very good condition however, this time some of the bunkers appeared a little washed out with rocks in the sand. The maintenance staff was out on the course watering the greens, on a Sunday, and in this 95 degree heat. The staff was helpful and courteous and the starter got us out 10 minutes early.
Thank you for coming out to play at Salem Glen. I appreciate you letting us know about your tee time delay. We like to treat all players as Members when you are here. What day did you play?
