West Orange Country Club
Played On 07/23/2016What a hidden treasure
I have lived in West Orange County for 13 years and could not believe the quality and improvements that this course have undergone in the past 12 Months. I loved it so much I joined the club in February of this year.
The Course is always in fantastic condition the greens are beautiful, putting on these greens gets you spoiled, they are fast with plenty of break. Fairways, tee boxes, practice area, all TOP NOTCH. But Pace of Play is one of the reasons I love it so much, the members have multiple games going most days, and I have played in foursomes that have finished in about 3 hours.
After your round the grill has great food and friendly staff that have been with the club for years. I think it says something when a staff has been in their same job for years about how they are treated by their employers. However, the best thing about the club is how family friendly the place is. My wife, children, and I are making some wonderful memories and we all are so happy we have such a great place to enjoy.
SouthWood Golf Club

What a great golf course. I have played here 3 times now and I just love it. It is in fantastic condition and plays very fair. Course has every type of challenge. Short and tricky, Long and hilly, uphill, downhill you name it. This course gave up 2 rounds well below the guys in my 4some's handicap and 2 rounds way over. That is always fun. When a course can be scored on or it can have you stoping for balls at the turn. There were a few places that had thick brush that I would have expected to have been mown down. (Hills around the Cart paths and such) where you wouldn't expect to lose a ball and we did, but in general this place continues to be a treasure in the States Capital. If you want to play in Tallahassee Southwood will not disappoint.
It was raining most of the day and the course played very dry not always typical in FL.
