The Frog at the Georgian
Played On 07/22/2018Use to be better. Needs sand and green improvements
Been a couple of years since I’ve played there. Got there early to watch the Open Championship. Restaurant/bar wasn’t that busy but had only two people working the whole place. Sat in restaurant for A few minutes then sat in bar. After about 10 mine, finally got my drink. Wasn’t the workers fault, just horribly understaffed. Food was decent, but pricey.
The course has lots of sand traps. Most had either very little sand, we’re washed out at the lips or looked more like waste areas (especially holes 14 and 15). Was just horrible. Greens were way too soft and slow. Only thing I can guess is that they are afraid to cut them short to prevent them from burning out. Fairways and tee boxes were in good shape and most underbrush under trees were clear so you could find balls is they made their way into the pines. Cart paths had seen better days. They do have GPS in the carts, which was nice. Hopefully the new management company will make improvements to it. You could tell it was just a course that was once nice but nobody wants to put money into.

Played On 09/03/2017Decent cheap course, but slow play and weird layouts.
Don't go if you in a hurry. I've played here several times and there's no such thing as a 4 hour round. They do have rangers driving around, but I don't think they really do anything except for writing down cart numbers. If you aren't going to try to speed up play why bother?
The course is in decent shapes, but there are a few holes that are just weird (hit 6 iron off tee then 3 wood second shot).
Overall, if you are wanting a cheap place to play, it's not too bad. Greens and fairways were good.

Played On 10/24/2016Odd course lauout
the course is in the middle of some changes. Back 9 was closed, but was aware of that ahead of time. Front 9 was iffy. Greens were hit or miss. I guess they will be doing the front nine over as well. The course layout is very odd in the front 9. You have a couple of holes (3 and 4) in particular that seem to be more likely on golden tee than a real golf course (iron off tee, then 200+ shot to green, or drive and 60 yd punch shot, then approach to green on par 5). Very odd layout. Can only guess they tried to fit 9 holes where the landscape didn't really allow. They also really need to have a starter to make sure people start on time and in order. Had one group who went off early that caused a backup right at the onset. Should not take 4+ hours on a Monday am. Having said that, can't beat $15. I never would pay more than $30 for the course. It's just too tricked up. If you are looking for a nice course, go elsewhere.

Thank you for playing Creekside and your comments. The Back 9 greens are growing in well and all 18 holes should be open on or around January 1. We look forward to a future visit from you.
