I have played Whittle very infrequently the past 30 years. Maybe once every couple of years. It's an old muni that is short with not much trouble. Only played here at last second due to rate. For those who haven't played here recently the greens were in really really good shape They were plush, smooth and had no Po in them. Fairways and tee boxes were good. You still have to deal with groups of 5 and ducking from wayward shots.

Played here in a recent tourney. Course was in great shape from tee box to green. No complaints.

I always enjoy playing here. Last year was a bad year condition wise. This year fairways have filled in nicely and the greens were in great shape. Not as fast as other times I've plated but still a nice pace to them. Green on 6 is really bad. 2 putts and pick up. Bunkers still need work.

First time playing here this year. Maybe because it was a crowded Saturday they requested groups not tee off #1 till the group ahead was leaving the green to speed up play and reduce wait time on holes. This made us tee off 40 mins late but we didn't get held up much. Like a lot of courses the harsh winter took it's toll on the greens. Lots of black spots that sometimes caused the ball to bounce. Greens were soft and receptive but much slower than last year. Fairways and tee boxes were great. Traps need work. Great layout and friendly staff.

Small holes on greens are visible from an aeration but they were receptive to shots, there was no sand and didn't appear to have much influence with putting. Maybe a tad slower than normal. Fairways were in excellent shape. Short par 5's. Very little sand. Water on 3 holes. Has some scenic views.

Very scenic views. Fun course to play when conditions are good. Fairways haven't completely grown out but still ok. The difference in the greens from side to side was quite different. Red nine greens were fine and pretty quick. Blue nine had a lot of "Po" in them and were very slow compared to Red. Still signs where they had been punched. White nine greens were punched the week before. Still enjoyable time

Had the opportunity to play Port Royal on May 23rd. Unfortunately the greens had been aerated the previous week and were quite bumpy. None the less the experience is unforgetable. The course is not very long but is very hilly and has plenty of sand to negoiate. As others have mentioned the first 5 or 6 holes while pretty, pale in comparison to the last 12. The challenges are magnified by the views of the ocean setting and it's distractions. It's not cheap to play but i would do it again in a heartbeat.

Only complaint was pace of play. 5 1/2 hours round is a long day.
