Club at Bond Head - South
Played On 09/01/2023Course conditions were poor
The course is very challenging with a few holes, like the first that would not appeal to some golfers. The fairways are generous on most holes, green big and undulating, which is typical of Hurdzan/Fry designed courses (Pulpit, Royal Woodbine, Le Diable) . The course is unwalkable with long distances between greens and tees. The course was poorly maintained and the fairways uncut even though the weather was perfect. The greens were quite fast, but as others have mentioned those playing the course do not fix their ball marks. Numerous bunkers were left unraked. Very nice clubhouse and the cart staff were excellent.
South/East at Spanish Wells Country Club
Played On 05/18/2022Not worth the rate paid
This course was not in great condition, except for the greens, which were quick and well maintained. The staff were friendly when you could find them, but the pace of play was slow and the amenities sparse. This was not because they did not have amenities, but there wasn't any staff there. This may have been attributable to this being the slow season and the members don't seem to use the bar, restaurant, etc.. The grass in the fairways and rough were spotty at best resulting in dead patches in many areas. I would not play this course again for the price paid.
Eagles Nest Golf Club
Played On 05/12/2015Great layout and challenging track
We played the course a little too early in the season and the course was still recovering from the severe Winter we had. As a result the fairways and greens were damaged in areas, but the greens still ran well and you could see how treacherous they could be in a few weeks. Really enjoyed the layout and the views from some holes were awesome. Hard to believe that the course is so close to subdivisions and some major roads. At points you were oblivious to being in the city. Beautiful clubhouse and some really nice touches.
La Cantera Golf Club
Played On 04/30/2015The course was under construction but...
I found the course to be quite challenging. You need to hit the ball straight. There were a couple of holes that were a bit iffy design wise but overall it was a nice course with some great views. The greens were very dry but rolled well. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. A couple of holes were under construction, but should be ready soon.
The Trophy Club
Played On 06/30/2014Fair course, generous fairways and large greens
We really enjoyed the course. The fairways were generous off the tee and the greens large. The greens were in great condition and rolled well. It's unfortunate that golfers don't fix their divots on such a nice course. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would play this course again in a heartbeat.
Brickyard Crossing
Played On 06/29/2014Very fun and challenging course with special feel to it
The course has some holes inside the Indy track. The first is a par 3 that was very challenging, yet fair. The fairways were generous and the greens fast and well maintained. A very good course and well worth the money. The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly.
Catalina Course at Omni Tucson National Golf Resort & Spa
Played On 05/01/2014Nice course, lots of bunkers and good greens
We played this course in just over 4 hrs. The pace of play was great and the course was in good shape. The greens had been punched and had not been top dressed, but you could see that they were in good condition and would roll well if not for the aerating. There were bunkers all over the course with steep faces. We enjoyed the course and would play it again. Not sure I would pay the normal rates however we got 18 holes for $55, which was more then fair.
