Could easily be one of my favorites

Needs some work but I like it . Really could use a hand from the people who play there and don’t bother to fix ball marks, divots, etc .. Have some respect for the game and the course people - it would be nice to have Marshall’s to ban the selfish and lazy golfers from the course ....fix your divot - repair your ball mark - it’s part of the game .....

i liked it

Needs some work still but I liked it . Some tiny greens. The best part is you won’t lose a ball in the rough . Balls are easy to spot as you approach them for the most part . This not only speeds up the round , but lowers the frustration level immensely . Searching for a ball that barely rolls off the fairway and not being able to find it sucks - this seems to be how every course I’ve played in the central Florida area is - ball eating rough ... not this course ... a big plus for that .... hitting the ball straight will serve you well, as it will on any course but more so here ....
I arrived an hour early but they would not let me out though the course was pretty much empty ... not very happy about that ...am glad I played at a discounted rate .

Prohibitively exspensive

Hands down the nicest course I’ve played in this area . I have to rate it as average because this course is what you should expect of an average golf course . Most of other area courses sub-standard in my opinion . The LPGA courses could really set themselves apart with a few changes - starting with the rough. How about a first cut of rough ? You can lose a ball that is 6” off of the fairway. Give us a first cut and then the primary rough !! It seems every area course is the same... fairway and ball eating rough. Typical . It only slows the game.
The scorecards... less than average!! C’mon guys!! Even the worst area courses are giving you scorecards with pictures of the hole layout !! It’s been said a picture says a thousand words. It would stand to reason then, that no picture says nothing - certainly not saying this is a special course.... fortunately for me, I was paired with some members who were generous with their “ local” knowledge and willing to share it .They kept me informed as to what lay ahead of us. Thanks again Jack, Mike and Preston !!
These things aside, it is a nice course. Nice layout, nice fairways, generously sized greens in good shape. What you would expect of any golf course. Unfortunately, this course is also prohibitively exspensive for the average hack . One could play Bethpage Black for less.... and that is a special course. With a first cut rough ... and pictures...
I should note also that all the help from the greeters , desk , cart people , starter and members I played with were all top notch. Thankyou to them !!

So so

Average course - easy to lose balls that are just off the fairway - the rough is too deep and just slows down play ...
some of the tee boxes were dirt - maybe under repair but weren’t marked as such ... if I hadn’t played at a discounted rate I might not have been too pleased.. however, the starter was awesome. I was quite a bit early for my tee time and he sent me out right away to beat the rain... which I did . Thankyou Mr. starter....

Easy to lose ball just off fairways....

Potential to be a real nice course ... staff friendly enough, the rough off fairways not so much ... easy to lose a ball 6” off fairways. Maybe they could make a first cut of rough six feet or so off the fairways then have primary rough....
also there seemed to be a odor in the air on the front nine the I didn’t notice the week before... maybe it was low tide ?
By the end of the round I was either used to the odor or it had gone away ...
I played at a discounted green fee, that being the case the course was acceptable ... will play again

So so

Tiny greens but in good shape - easy to lose a ball even if it just rolls a bit off the fairway - a bit inconvenient to get into the course because it is in a gated community - would have been disappointed if I hadn’t played at discounted rate ....

Ok

Overall an acceptable course. The fairways were in decent shape though not as clearly defined as one would like. The greens also were in decent shape. The sand traps were not very sandy and quite compacted. There is no walking allowed on this course so one must ride. The cart paths need lots of attention . You will loosen some teeth from the ruts, bumps and drop offs at transitions from concrete to dirt along the cart path in several areas. There are also plenty of tree roots to jostle you around. Pay attention or things may bounce out of your cart . Several of the wooden bridges you will encounter are in dire need of repair or replacement . Be sure the brakes in your cart are good or you could be in for an unpleasant surprise going downhill, particularly on the bridge going over Airport Road . This you must cross twice and the brakes on the cart I used Nov. 10 were bad - I had to stomp them pretty hard to get braking on the downhills. There is one small pond fronting the only water hole, a short par three. It could be a really nice viewing par three except for the algae or whatever was on the waters surface. I’m not sure if the pond had a fountain, but I think it would’ve helped this situation immensely. I think this course would do well to maybe lower the weekday prices by $10 , generate more play and thereby more revenue and reinvest in itself by virtue of needed maintenance and repairs. Until then - it’s just another golf course....
Hit them long and straight my friends....peace...

The staff and course were awesome

We were in Louisiana watching our grandchildren for our son and daughter in law - since the children are of school age , we had some free time ... thanks to golf now I found some awesome rates to play Northwood - I was so impressed with the folks and the course I booked another round for an equally awesome price and brought my wife (who does not golf) along for the ride - she was equally impressed with the friendliness, the course and the price I paid ... very nice course and people !!!
I would recommend this course to everyone
