Poor greens, pour rain!

Considering its blazing hot here, the course (fairways and occasional greens) arent in too bad of shape. Some of the greens are terrible and number 17 has a temporary green which is auto 2-putt. I wish people wouls sand divots and repair pitch marks like good stewards of the game. Those little things help courses so much. I wouldnt pay over 25 or 30 to play here. Its in about average shape and needs some rain.

Pace of play was a buzzkill

The round would have been completed about 45 mins earlier had the 4-some of old guys let us pass them on 10 when we waited on the tee box behind them to tee off. I wish more course had marshals and took notice of slow play and made slow players allow others to pass. Would make the courses great to play.

Course plays slow but improvements have been made

The course has undergone some great changes. The greens are ok and would be better if they had patrons with better course etiquette and allowed faster groups to pass, repaired their divots on the green and fairway. Greens aren't rolling too great because of the amount of players on the course but its still a fair price for that course. GPS on carts is nice but I had a 10 yard discrepancy from my laser range finders on 2 holes... Not sure what was going on there.

Course is improving. Greens are slow.

Its that time of the year the greens are a different grass. They are good and greens are holding but the greens are slow. Putt with a 3 or 5 wood. Course has improved drastically in the past year or two. Worth playing for under $30.

Inconsistent/Poor greens

As you can read in the recent reviews of the course, there are 2 holes that are closed (holes 5 and 6) and hole 7 (par 5) is reduced to a par 3. The greens are inconsistent, bumpy, missing spots, slow, etc... If having a good putting surface is important then you may want to avoid this course at this time. Fairways are alright, but wet. Course is still pretty saturated.

Good shape, slow greens

The course this morning was in pretty good shape. Some of the greens still look like they need some work done but the course as a while was in decent shape. I frequent this course and it's as good as I have seen it in 6 years. I don't like spending more than $25 or $30 out here, but its a challenging, but fun course to play. The greens are not quite smooth post aeration, but still playable. Give it another 2 weeks of rain and it should be a bit better.

Would recommend if you can find a deal

The course is in bad shape even though fewer people are on it these days. Patrons arent repairing ball marks and since they took the sand away divots arent being repaired. Honestly, they should shut it down, resurface the greens and reseed. Only play this course if you can't afford to play a better one and if this one is less than $25. Warning, the greens are bad, some of them are borderline unplayable.

Needs improvement but still playable

I understand this is the transition period for grass and the greens, even though fewer traffic, are bumpy and not well maintained. Several dead spot and people not fixing divots. They should have shut the course down completely and sanded all the greens to fix the impurities and give it a break. Tee boxes were tall. This course has some serious potential and I think the patrons need to play and do their part to help. Picking feet up on the greens, fixing divots, repair divot marks, etc... all of the stuff that comes with playing.

Rude staff, terrible greens

I have been playing this course for 5 years now and it has not improved. The staff, however, has been rude the last few times I have been out to hit a bucket of golf balls. The gentleman there this morning was nice and polite, I guess he likes his job, but the gentleman there Thursday early afternoon was rude and gave me 2 and a half baskets instead of 3 full baskets. I question it because there was a line and I do not want to make a scene. Next time he may not be so lucky. The greens, I mean patches of dirt and weeds, are slow and inconsistent. The fairways arent bad but you better hope your approach shot is either close or not in a divot on the green. I wish they would close 9 holes for 2 months and reseed and sand them to get them in better shape. I wouldn't pay more than $20 to play here. Play Houston national instead.

Good course/poor attitude

Was able to play palmetto and post for the 18 holes (split into 9 holes). The course was in average to good condition. It has some real potential to be great but they can't seem to get It all together. The greens we at best average. Some had large, what appeared to be mold spots that were reduced to dirt and we not fair to putt through. I put poor attitude because the staff always appears to be agitated by golfers, or at least me trying to golf. They are always short and seem to be in a bad mood. In the 5 years I have frequented this course I have not seen anyone but the female in charge of memberships smile. I played as a single and was able to get around the slow groups and finish the round in 2 and a half hours. Tee time was around mid afternoon for reference for those that try to get on and off the course before losing 20 lbs of sweat.

Good not great.

Having family in olathe I visit the area from Houston periodically and make it a tradition to play this course. Course was in good shape but play was slow (in their defense i was warned). Still fun to play and is user friendly. Front tees are great for beginners and wife's to play with. I got the tee time for $15 each. Worth the cost for that round.

Marshall Needs to be present and active!

Teeing off at 2:15p on Saturday was ideal considering the twilight rated green fees. For $31 it was reasonable to play a golf course I frequented in both high school and during college while I attended UTSA. This course was always one of my favorites and I was excited to get to play it again. Little did we know we would be stuck behind a group of 5 (terrible golfers) that would not let us (group of 3 fast paced, decent golfers) through. Their reasoning was because they had a group of 5 in front of them. The marshall should have been driving around and making sure pace of play was appropriate. We waited on every tee box, every green, and every fairway to hit the ball. We laid up on par 5's just to be able to drive up and wait allowing the people behind us to play a bit. We lost one in our group after the front 9 and the groups would still not let us through. This is unacceptable and needs to be reiterated to groups of 4 and 5. We finally finished at 7:45 (over 5 hours after teeing off!). I played again the next day with 4 in the group and we played in 3 and a half hours. It is no wonder people don't want to golf anymore. Help make golf fun again by encouraging others to let smaller or faster groups through. Then everyone is happy and can take or not take their time if they want.

Good, but not full price good.

Ended up playing Palm and Pine. Both sides were equal (not good, but not bad). Greens were okay and course was okay but the cart path felt like I was driving on 290 in the middle of all the construction. Do yourself a favor and just drive in the grass almost the whole way. Course was good but pace of play ( played with one other gentleman the first 9 and joined up with a man and his wife the last) was poor the first 9. We got stuck behind another 2-some whose skill level was not quite up to our so we waited for them on every tee and fairway. I would recommend it if you can find it for around $20 because that is all it is worth to play out here. Do not pay full price.
