Monument at Troon North Golf Club
Played On 04/04/2019Great Course Overall
This was my favorite course in the area. The layout is fantastic and it looks extremely nice. There were a few issues that I wouldn't have expected for the price we paid. First, it was incredibly slow. A Marshall came out and told us that "we were playing too quickly". There were 3 groups on a tee box at a time, so it wasn't us. Also, we were never told that they had sanded the greens. So those two things took away from the experience, but overall the course is fantastic. I really enjoyed the scenery and it is a challenging course to play.

I really enjoy this course. I have played it 3 times and try to go back every time I'm in the area. There is some really nice variation in the layout of the holes, a lot of different looks, challenging approach shots and it is very well maintained. The greens are big and can be tough to read, but they roll consistently. It may be slightly over priced for the area (I paid $95), something closer to $80 feels more reasonable, but its not really a complaint.
This time I played on a windy day and you really feel it across the course. Maybe the last 3 holes on the back 9 seem to be protected a bit more from the wind, but it is tough everywhere else. The wind I played in was playing about 2 clubs different on every shot; I could imagine a very windy day not being very enjoyable.
I would recommend the course. It is one of the best in the area. The pro shop is nothing to write home about, but for me its about the course.

I had high hopes for this course based on the reviews and after 18 holes I'm wondering if I played the same course as these other reviewers. First off, the course itself is fine, it is nothing great, not too difficult and has a couple of interesting holes, but the idea that they charge $105 to play here is outrageous. I would come back to play this course for maybe $50, but not much more than that. Sarasota National and Riverwood are about the same price if not less and are significantly better courses in the area.
Secondly, the conditions of the course felt like your average municipal course. The grass on the tee boxes needed to be cut weeks ago, the greens were beat up, but rolled okay. The fairways were pretty good. There is a lot of sand, but the bunkers are fair to hit out of.
Overall, the course is fine, but certainly not worth what they are charging. There are a bunch of holes with slight doglegs left and right and a couple of nice par 3s, but nothing too memorable. If you can find a deal that drops the price to $50 or $60 then go for it, but there are a ton of better options in the area for this price range.

I really enjoyed this course. Challenging layout and fast greens, but a fun place to play. I felt like I used all my clubs at some point during the round. At $105 it is a bit on the pricey side, but I'd say you get your monies worth. I would come back and recommend to a friend.
I agree with jonboy its a nice course in pretty good shape it is not pristine shape . I agree they are way over priced . $50 to 60 is where it should be priced.
