Jones at Sea Trail Golf Resort and Convention Center
Played On 02/09/2019Kiss this one GOODBYE
Played this in early February. The course had not been touched in at least a week. Tee boxes were uncut. Fairways were overun with weeds. Greens were a mix of several different grasses and weeds, more weed then grass. It was wet, which I know that is out of the hands of the people at Sea Trail, but other courses nearby were at least being taken care of. The Byrd course at Sea Trail was in very good shape, while the Maples course was closed all together. The maintenance people we saw, which were not many, were busy picking up pine cones, not cutting greens The guy behind the counter when I checked in told me what a wonderful experience we were about to have, a flat out lie. When we finished, I went back to talk about the experience, but he had left for the day. To complete an overall terrible experience, the restaurant and Bob the waiter were werse then the course we had just played. I have another trip in 2 weeks to Sea Trail, but we have dropped the Jones course and the Maples course because of the conditions and the people. After that trip, we will not return. Not worth the 1 star I had to give.

Played in early February. We had played the course a year ago and were a little concerned about the conditions we would see, based on the previous years trip. It Was Great. They have really put in money and effort and really improved the entire experience. Fast, smooth greens, full fairways and great tee boxes. The folks in the pro shop and restaurant were wonderful. We will be back

This course was ok. We have played it several times over the years and it continues to age less then gracefully. Conditions were "ok" but could be better if some money was put into it. The layout is average, but not a bad course for average golfers. If your looking for a course that will wow you or offer super challenges, this is not for you. The staff needs to loosen up a bit and more tender loving care needs to be put into the course. A good on the way in or on the way out of Myrtle Beach play. The weakest of the Legends Resort group.

Good conditions, great people on and off the course, but the course layout is a JOKE. If I was Pete Dye, I would disown P.B.Dye, Jr. ASAP. I played it when it opened years ago and hoped that it had mellowed or settled in over time. WRONG. Most Miniature Golf courses in Myrtle Beach are far superior to this layout. If on a golf trip, have a root canal that day

Played On 01/16/2016Nice Course, Bad Weather
This is a really nice layout that was in really good shape for the winter, but we got caught by the weather. Tees and greens were fine and the fairways were full of grass. Rough was a little patchy, but it in the dead of winter, so no complaints. Should have stayed out of the rough anyway. Did not handle the rain very well, but the course was saturated by weeks of rain before we arrived. Definitely will play again.
Legends Golf Resort - Heathland Course
Played On 01/15/2016What Rain??!!
Our round started with sunny skies and actually rather nice temperatures for January. Our group had the first tee times of the day, so the pace of play was fine. We did have a 15 to 20 min wait at the turn due to slow play on the back nine. Then, the weather turned. Holes 10 and 11 was a drizzle, the rest was a downpour. The course at first handled the rain very well, but by 16, the weather won. Overall, the course was in great shape. The tee boxes were fine, the fairways full of thick dormant bermuda and the greens were firm and true, with no bad spots to be seen. A very good experience with the golf and all the people involved with the course and resort. Definitely recommended.

Played On 01/14/2016Nice, But
Have been wanting to play this course for a couple of years now, since it is on the way to Myrtle Beach and is a good stop off location for our trips. The staff could not have been more helpful and nicer. The course for the time of year was in very good shape, full of dormant Bermuda grass and the greens showed no signs of damage anywhere. No one can argue with the cost to play. Unfortunately, I found the layout to be one little annoying trick after another. Blind shots and strange little design features that unless you have played the course a couple of times, they will jump up and bite a normally well played shot. The on cart GPS system was so old that it was next to impossible to see the screen, so that helpful tool was of no use. It finally stopped working on #10 and never came back to life again. Really nice people and good conditions, but not worth the stop in the future
We are glad to hear that you stopped by to play a round at TimeberLake. We pride ourselves in our great customer service so we are happy to hear how helpful everyone was. We apologize for the GPS system in the carts. The course can definitely be tricky, but after playing a few time we feel like you may enjoy it a bit more. We hope you will come out and give us another shot.
