Chapel Hill Golf Course
Played On 05/28/2022One of the hidden gems of Berks county
Now don’t let this title fool you. Chapel hill is no TPC course. But for the price of a round here. It’s hard to find a better bang for your buck course within a 20 mile radius. They have hidden fairway hazards that will eat your perfectly placed 250yd tee shots up. Length that will even make the longest of hitters scramble to save a par 5. Doglegs that would make a Great Dane blush, and bunkers that will leave you with a double bogey before you can blink. The course staff takes very good care of the track, although they tend to aerate their greens at very inconvenient times throughout the summer. They do make up for it with very true greens that are easy enough for a beginner, but can easily make an avid golfer 3 putt. I play this course about 10+ times a year for the past 16 years and they’ve been consistently a great go to for a quick 9 after work, or a Saturday morning drink til you can’t swing 4 person scramble. They get a 4.3 out of 5 stars from me all day long.
Chapel Hill Golf Course
Played On 12/02/2017Very nice track for the price
I live about 5 minutes away from Chapel Hill GC and play here quite often. Usually they have an affordable rate on GolfNow. But either way you look at it, paying $40 on a Saturday afternoon during the heart of the season at the counter is not bad at all either. Chapel Hill takes very good care of this course for how much foot traffic they have daily. Some of the older guys in my area while playing at chapel hill, will not let you play through their foursome. Even if you are playing by yourself. Just something I’ve noticed about this place during the 200 rounds in my life that I’ve played here. I’m guessing they’re just old, grumpy members that think the world owes them something.. Personally, i love the layout, and location of CHGC. It is a par 70 that will keep you honest at just over 6,000 yards. Hidden water hazards in the middle of fairways, and hidden sand traps. Driveable par 4’s, and very wide open fairways with a lot of tall grass. Worth the money every single time!
Galen Hall Golf Club
Played On 11/07/2017Beautiful track!
Living so close to Galen Hall definitely has its benefits. When you’re in this area, and have a couple hours free, this course is a must play! Full of long fairways, and tall unforgiving bunkers. Galen hall gives you the feeling of playing a PGA course, for the price of playing a chip, and putt. I’ve played here over 100 times throughout my life, and would recommend Galen for a round any day of the week. You will not be disappointed with what my personal opinion is the best bang for your buck course in the Berks County area!
Thanks for the 5 star rating and spot on description of Galen Hall. We appreciate your patronage. Would you mind if we place your review on our Facebook page, in a post that promotes the golf course?
Reading Country Club
Played On 06/07/2017RCC is on point
Yesterday had to be the 20th time I've played at Reading country club. Staff is unbelievably friendly, course is challenging, yet manageable for all skill levels. Well taken care of, with the exception of the Berks county residents who don't like bending down to fix their divots. I probably fixed 8 divots yesterday that were not from my ball. Also played behind a threesome of good golfers for 17 holes. But when you see a Gentleman waiting on the tee box at every single hole, you should probably just let him play through. I played by myself yesterday, and couldn't believe that these jabronis didn't let me play through. So the round that should have probably taken me 2 hours to get through, took 3 and a half. It's called pace of play fellas. Don't be inconsiderate. Even if you are the playing well. I would highly recommend RCC.
