Don't let the front nine fool you. When you make the turn you better have your A game with you. And purchase a yardage book! This will be critical for your first time on the course. I didn't and really regret it. There are a lot of unknown yardages from the tees that you need to know in order to score well. A driver on every hole doesn't work here. Very challenging course....one of the more difficult 9's I have ever played. (Spyglass Hill was tougher, but not by much.)
The staff was very friendly but I wished they had recommended a yardage book at the start. Lot's of variety on this course. Have fun!

I played four courses at this facility. This one definitely had the best staff. I am not sure why as I understand that some of the staff actually rotate between the four locations. Maybe just the day I hit this one, but the staff was superb compared to the Lions/Panther staff. From the bag drop to the cart return every staff member showed a great "servants heart" and worked to make our day an enjoyable one. On this particular day, the course won in a big way, but the experience was great. The course was in excellent condition in every aspect. If you are looking for a course to play, definitely add this to your list.

Panthers Run is a great course with plenty of challenges but also plenty of opportunities for birdies. Excellent condition!

The was the first of four courses I played in this family of courses. All in all, the course was in very good condition. However, the winter and spring weather created some serious issues for the greens. The staff were taking the necessary steps to recover them, but unfortunately, it was the week I scheduled to play. Nevertheless, the greens were still playable and the rest of the experience was very good. However, two of the staff were playing in a foursome in front of us and while we were a twosome, they never offered to let us play through. As a result, we had to wait on every shot for most of the round. In addition, the attitude of the staff at the Lions Paw/Panthers Run (both courses operate our of the same club house) was certainly less friendly and helpful than those at the other two courses.

In search of a course to play while traveling I discovered The Patch. Based on reviews, testimonies, promotional pieces and pictures I desided to give it a try. Basically, this is the worse course I have ever played. The tee boxes are sand pits, the fairways aren't fairways at all and the greens were attrocious. I was shocked at what I experienced in comparison to what I saw/read in my research. If the course is under-going an overhaul and rework, then fine. But state that up front. Let the potential golfers know that the course is a disaster, the fairways are rock hard, the greens are very rough and there is basically no grass on the tee boxes. All I can say is, 'been there, done that, won't do it again'.
