Mojave Resort Golf Club
Played On 07/01/2020Good course, not busy in summer
I would never consider playing this course at regular rates but booking by phoning the clubhouse nets a $25 summer green fee instead of the $47 "Hot deal" offered here. The course is in pretty good shape although today and tomorrow 18 holes consists of the same 9 played twice; the greens are being "punched." With a tee time of 10:30 we weren't pushed, didn't have to wait behind others and were done with 18 holes in 3 hours. Hot (101*F) when done but the course does allow you to bring a small cooler along in the summer. We bring frozen water and Gatorade and let it defrost as we play. The rough is long enough to be penalizing but the fairways are generous. Nice layout with carries over water on a few holes. Bugs weren't out today but this course has brutal mosquitoes many months of the year. This course is worth playing and the positives definitely outweigh the negatives.

I play this course every summer as it is very reasonably priced and never crowded after 9am. This time I went with my wife; she is just taking up the game. We teed off at 9:15 and were done in 3:30 despite the beginner hitting all of her shots. We caught up with no one and no one played through. We basically had our own private course as we had three open holes in front of us and three open holes behind us the entire round.
The ground is in very good shape; even the places where the fairways are a little thin are easy to play from since they are keeping the course well watered.
The course is flat and requires some carry shots and some placement shots. Greens are not flat but the breaks are not extreme. The greens are also in good shape, receptive to incoming approach shots and roll fair and true. Not bumpy at all. Sand traps are decent sand with very few rocks.
All in all, a great experience for a quick and decent round of golf.

This is a course that gets it right every time. We drove out there from Rancho Cucamong, about 1:15 away but I wanted to impress family visitors from the Denver area. Being a weekday, the course wasn't busy. It's in the best shape I've ever seen it in the 10 years I've been playing there, lush and green. Their hospitality is fantastic, all the way down to the free practice areas that are included (with balls) before your round. Towels and ice chests included on the carts. The ONLY complaint I would have is no GPS provided but we carry our own anyway. Extremely well designed course with a generous amount of very cold water jugs and restrooms out there.
