This course is my home course, and perhaps it was 630am tee time, but I have to say there were some improvements:
1. I noticed more ranger
2. I noticed greens were in better condition
3. tee boxes were in better shape.

I noticed black tee boxes were moved around. but overall, getting closer in value vs course. I rated fair, but it is starting to be at upper range of fair.
Definitely need to address dress codes though.

All in all, driving all the way from NYC, I was disappointed. Off the bat, the starter let us start early which was nice. The course was relatively empty, but the starter told me I had to get grouped with another twosome because they do not make any money off from golfnow users. I was bit surprised, and was going to say something but I let it go. Course was average, and greens were fair shape. But all in all no signature hole that I can think of. Average course, and as long as you don't pay alot, it will be fine course to practice.

Been awhile since I played here. #1 tee box was fixed, but overall my biggest concerns were the conditions of tee box. Being a public course, I do temper my expectations, but biggest issues I saw was the un-evenness of tee box while trying to take shot.

Overall, always nice to see 600+ par five. I only know of Marine Park for NYC muni to have a hole of that distance.

Definitely need rangers to keep the pace moving. greens were slow. definitely need work there.

Overall, it could use bit more work.

Granted it was 4th of July, but not having rangers was really bad. 5.5 hrs of round is exactly the reason why many average golfers like me don't want to golf. With that being said, the course improved from last time in terms of conditions. Greens were better, and I noticed improvements on bunkers and fairways. But still needs work, and hopefully this comments would get them to start focusing more on golfer experience. Only NYC muni over 7k yards, so for first timers, might be worth the experience.

Overall, 95 degree heat doesn't help. But course was in good condition. Could have used bit more rangers as it did slow down a bit, but usually they are good with rangers driving around.
Fair price for good course. Please do check it out.
Layout keeps you interested as well.

Tough front nine holes. Back nine is easier. Slower green than I expected when compared to last time I was here. Conservative plays wins the day here, and have to go aggressive on par 3s

Bit slow in part due to expected rain, but was surprised at the number of golfers. Layout is interesting, but most challenging parts are greens. Super fast and well maintained, really found putting to be most challenging part of the course.
Fairway maintenance could use some work and noticed seeds on carts were empty so couldn't fix my divots well on front nine. Rangers were driving by which is good to see, but they should advise golfers to fix their own divots on green. All in all fair round at fair price. For Golfnow users, additional charges on carts for 18 pp.

Surprised by the condition as a county course. Overall i thought it was good value. Pace was not as bad as I expected and friendly staff.

Roughs are tough to get out and avoid treelines as view to pin is not going to be easy.

Green was surprisingly in good condition. Rangers were seen at various holes. Good to know pace was being kept.

I played here in the past, but this was by far the worst. They did have event on a Saturday, but worst part was that there was no ranger to really organize the pace of play for all players. I think the starter said best when a person asked how long is the delay - " your guess is good as mine"

I play on this course from time to time and ended up giving up this course after 9th hole. Took just about three hours to finish nine, and on 6th hole - we called the clubhouse to ask for assistance from a ranger. None showed up and we were left to fend for ourselves to ask groups to move along. It was a 250pm tee off so I thought it would be 2 and quarter hrs for 9 hole at most but it was just plain bad. Tee boxes were uneven, though greens were in OK condition. Overall, what we thought to be a deal in afternoon became an overpayment of late season course condition of NYC public municipal course. I would suggest early morning tee off; otherwise just avoid this course. Understand NYC course would be packed but having no assistance I think is unacceptable.

Rangers really need to do a better job having people move along. I don't mind the re-tee shots but rangers need to keep people moving. Unacceptable that be the 3rd group to start and finish at almost 5 hours.

tee boxes were in terrible condition. I dont mind the usual wear and tear but to have tee boxes uneven and have ditches is just not acceptable.

After change in management, they did a great job with greens and pace of play. Granted it was Sat afternoon twilight, thought value was great. Could use better job at bunkers but overall amazing what ground crews did in couple of months. Definitely will go back for full 27 hole replay.

Overall, i thought the greens were in good condition. I am a beginner but i thought we could have used rangers more to assist other beginners to pick up or drop their ball and move on to improve pace of play.

Otherwise, layout is what i remembered, and I thought the condition was better than last year, probably due to more rain.

Had to say, granted it was an early tee time, pace got a lot better. greens were surprisingly in better condition than how i remember it. Tee box still need work but better condition than before. Relatively early in the season so hopefully they can keep it up. Pace of play less than 4 hrs in split rock which is unusual.

The pace of play on this course is pretty bad. But with spotty rain forecast and early tee time, was able to finish a round at a good pace. Greens really need work and fairways need to be patched up, but overall as long as pace is decent, its a good course for beginners.

This course has potential to be a great course. While short course, it has enough challenges for beginners to learn shot selections. Greens and bunkers need work. Rangers needed as pace of play could get pretty brutal. But name me nyc municipal course with good pace of play..

Overall shape of course is in better condition. noticed working on 1st tee box. Green still needs work, as it was too slow. But otherwise for public course not in bad shape. The price of 72 per player seems on high side in my view. would prefer to play here on twilight hopefully with less traffic.

Great course, good green condition. Value on twilight vs course is pretty amazing.

Course is not well drained. Took me 5hrs on a twilight rate. Needs work. Would be fine for local residents looking to get a round bUT not suited for out of towners. Friendly staff though.
